Cross Country Safety

Posted by Ralph Casas at Jul 23, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Cross Country Safety

  • Never run in the street. Use sidewalks.

  • At all times, but especially when crossing a street, obey all traffic laws.
  • Assume that drivers will not see you. BE ALERT!
  • Where there are no sidewalks, run facing traffic.
  • Where there are no sidewalks, run single-file.
  • During a workout, run only on pre-determined routes -- do not be creative with your runs.
  • NEVER RUN ALONE. When running on the roads, use the "buddy system." Always look out for your teammates.
  • If you have to run alone, inform a parent or family member of the routes you will take.
  • Stay hydrated at all times!
