Summer Training Camp Begins August 10th
Be prepared for extreme training in the mountains around Big Bear Lake!

There is one quality which you must possess to succeed, and that is clarity of purpose. This is the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to achieve it.

This year’s summer running camp will once again be at Camp Tanda in Big Bear.  We leave La Mirada on Sunday, August 10th at 12 noon and return the following Sunday.  Morning and evening runs, lots of hills and miles of trails will be the highlight of this years camp.

2002 Team at Castle Rock

Day 1: Sunday — August 10th

12:00 p.m.     Leave LMHS
2:15 p.m.      Arrive @ Big Bear Lake
5:00 p.m.      Flat Easy Run: (Boys: 4.5 - 6.0 miles; Girls 3.5 - 5.0 miles)
7:00 p.m.      Dinner #1

Day 2: Monday — August 11th

7:00 a.m.          3-mile paced run through town (plus warm-up)
9:00 a.m, Breakfast #1
1:00 - 5:00 p.m.    Free Time
4:30 - 7:00 p.m.     Trail run: 8.0 miles (shack run)
7:00 - 7:30 p.m. Dinner #2

Day 3: Tuesday — August 12th

7:00 a.m. 

Flat Run through town
9:00 a.m.  Breakfast #2
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Movie Day ($4.00 per person)

4:30 - 7:00 p.m. 

Girls: Trail run (Stairway to Heaven)
Boys: 9.0 miles (Stairway to Heaven)

7:30 p.m. 

Dinner

Day 4: Wednesday — August 13th

7:00 a.m.  Woodland trail Loop(Intense!)
12:00 noon  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Free time (Town or camp)
5:00 p.m.  Gray’s Peak Run (4-5 miles) Lot’s of up and down hills!
7:30 p.m.  Dinner #4: Chef’s Surprise

Day 5: Thursday — August 14th

7:00 a.m. 

Holcomb Valley Run (7.5 miles) 
9:30 a.m.  Breakfast #4
10:00 a.m.  Nutrition Information
12:30-4:30 p.m.  Bowling at The Bowling Barn: Group Rate: $3.00 per game $1.75 for shoes
5:00 p.m.  FREE TIME!!!!
6:30 p.m.  Dinner #5 — Pizza Night!

Day 6: Friday — August 15th

7:30 a.m. 

Castle Rock (3.5 miles up hill!)

9:00 a.m. 

Breakfast

12:30 p.m. 

Lunch

5:00 p.m. 

Shack Loop (3.1 miles)

Dual Meet: Boys vs Girls (Current record — Girls: 2 - Boys: 0)

Girls: 2.0 miles
