La Mirada High School

The La Mirada Cross Country teams picked up 13 medals and a whole lot of PR’s at the 10^th Annual Roadrunner Classic at La Mirada Regional Park. The Varsity Boys, paced by Jared Bird (16:02) and Nathaniel Moore (16:37), made a respectable showing despite having only 5 runners racing in the varsity race. In the process, Jared crushed the previous Junior class record set by Josh Vincelet (16:14) in 1995 at the 2^nd Roadrunner Classic. Nathaniel holds the 3^rd spot. The Varsity Girls, behind Amanda Stephens (19:21) and Ana Poblet (20:01), raced well but fell short of 3^rd place by 9 points. With their races, Amanda entered the Roadrunner Classic All-Time list and Ana moved into 2^nd spot on the Junior class record list.

The Frosh-Soph boys, led by Taylor Siemens (19:25) and Jorge Granado (19:30) raced well but fell short of 4^th place. The Jr. Varsity Girls were led by Jenna Pasillas (23:50) to a 3^rd place finish. In the final race of the day, the J.V. boys brought home 2^nd place behind PR’s by Elijah De Rojas (19:54) and Jim Palmer (20:04). Congratulations to all the runners who received medals and the many others who set PR’s at Roadrunner.
