La Mirada High School

In the most recent Suburban League meet, the Matadores defeated Bellflower’s boys and girls frosh-soph, JV and varsity teams at Bellflower High School. Check out all the results under 2002 Race Results.

The Lady Mats (9 - 0) outscored the Bucs by a score of 23 - 38 on the 3.1 mile course. Leading the way for the Matadores, on an off day for many, were Vanessa Thomas (21:25) and Ana Poblet (21:29). Jennifer Minero, Destinie Martin and Megan Burbidge rounded out the top scorers as the La Mirada team captured the 5 through 9 spots in the race.The girls JV team overwhelmed the Bellflower team by a score of 15 - 50.

Sophomore Nathaniel Moore (17:21) led the way in the boy’s race, with Jared Bird, Dag Tesfaye and Daniel Lee close behind. The boys are now 2^nd in Suburban League competition with a 4 - 1 record. The boy’s Frosh-Soph team defeated Belflower 22 - 33. Congratulations to Freddie Ramirez on his 1^st place finish!
