Both boys and girls disappointed by their performances
Although they ran strong, both the boys and the girls were placed in the fastest heat of their respective divisions and were unable to hold on to a qualifying spot. Led by senior Andrew Bueno, the boys raced to a faster team time than at the Mt. SAC Invitational. Dennis Ly and Michael Palmer, and Greg Luna earned course PRs.
On the girls side, Melissa Byrd and Sarah Jeon earned their overall PRs and Stephanie Felix, Jenna Pasillas, and Clarissa Negrete earned their course PRs as the girls set a school record for fastest team time with a mark of 97:54. Closer then any previous season, the girls still fell a few points short of their goal of qualifying for a CIF-SS Finals berth. This marks the 21st consecutive year the girls have advanced to the post-season tournament only to go home empty handed. On the other hand, two of their teammates earned the right to race at the next level and will compete for a spot in the State Championship race.
