4/29/01 Pacers shut out the Billerica Rovers

Posted by Dale Dubois on Apr 29 2001 at 05:00PM PDT
The Pacers shut out the Rovers of Billerica 3-0 on Sunday morning before a near capacity crowd at Sportsmans Field in Bedford. It was a very strong defense lead by Jeff Bailey that controlled the tempo of the game from the start. The Pacers got on the board early as Scott Sharby took a pass from Steve Bicknell and buried it in the net to put the Pacers up for good. Bertie O'Gorman was to make it 2 to nill at the half, finishing a pass from Scott Sharby. The second half was a bit more physical as the Billerica bunch tried to get on the board. It would be to no avail as Bertie O'Gorman would net a header off a Jeff Guild cross to finish the scoring at 3-0. We don't need to remind ourselves about the dangers of accumulating yellow card points again do we..... you know who you are... 5 card points in one game is not acceptable behavior. The Pacers take on the Danvers Internationals next Sunday at 9 AM in search of their 3rd straight win.
