5/27/01 Pacers Tie Overlook 2-2, Joe Correai is a Mud Puppy

Posted by Dale Dubois on May 28 2001 at 05:00PM PDT
The NH Pacers and the Hollis Overlook battled the rain to a 2-2 tie on Sunday. The tie knocked the Pacers back to second place, two points behind Windham, who picked up a win on Sunday. This puts the pressure on the Pacers to win the remaining games. The Pacers got on the board first as took a shot that was saved by the keeper. The ball rebounded in front of the net and put it away for the 1-0 lead. Hollis tied the game shortly after on a cross from the outside that fooled Joe Correai, who was minding the net for the Pacers. The Pacers would go up a goal before the half on a throw in deep in the Overlook end. Jeff Bailey would tip the ball on with his head to Bertie O'Gorman, who was waiting to bury the second goal for the Pacers. Hollis would tie the score in the second half as the skies opened up and made controlling the ball impossible. Both teams had their chances to win the game late in the game, but could not finish with the sloppy conditions. The Game was followed by refreshments and viewing of the game films in the Pacers club house. Thanks to Jeff Guild. Next Sunday, the Pacers travel to Billerica to take on the Rovers at Ackerson Field for an 11 AM start. Come to play.
