Peter Hall Nets Two as Bedford Crushes Peabody 9-0

Posted by Dale Dubois on May 13 2002 at 05:00PM PDT
Peter Hall would claw his way out of his sweeper position and score two goals, as the Bedford Pacers rolled over Peabody 9-0. Jeff Bailey and Bertie O'Gorman would also register two goals a piece in the winning effort. The win keeps Bedford in first place by a point, as Danvers and Lowell both won their matches also. Bedford showed up to play on Sunday morning and showed Peabody why they are in last place in the division. Jeff Bailey would begin the scoring barrage as he netted a nice pass from Marco. Then Bertie would get into the fun scoring two in a row. The first off a pass from Marco and the next from a Jeff Bailey assist. Bedford controlled the game, even though there was some sloppy play in the first half. Chris Cloutier would make a tremendous save to preserve his 3rd shut out of the season. The first half would end with the score at 3-0. After the break, Bedford came out on a mission, scoring 6 unanswered goals. Colm Sanders would score first in half number two, off a good pass from Scott Sharby. Then Jeff Bailey would score his second on the day, finishing a Scott Sharby cross. Then it was Jeff Guild's turn to register Bedfords 6th goal from Scott Sharby's third assist on the day. John Guild would be taken down in the area and Bedford would be awarded a PK. Peter Hall would be called in for the duty and he would show us all how to take a PK, tucking the ball neatly in the right side. Bedford was now up 7-0. With this goal, Peter Hall would move to striker along with Keeper, Chris Cloutier. Dave Sayward would be charged with preserving the shut out, as he took over net duties. Chris Cloutier went right to work, chasing a through ball down to the end line and crossing it on a slide to Peter Hall. Peter would beat the keeper for his second goal of the day. Johnnie Guild would finish off the Sporting Club with a blast from the eighteen, off a pass from Brian Germaine. Peabody would raise the white flag and the match would end, 9-0 for Bedford. Next game is a tough match against the lovable team from Lowell at their field at 9 AM. Let management know if you are going directly to the field or meeting at route 111 park and ride. For those who are meeting at Park and Ride, meet at 8 AM. All others show up at Lowell Tech field at 8:30 AM. Lets show up to play on Sunday and drop Lowell down a notch or two. Some players will be heading to the US vs Holland game in Foxboro following the match. I believe additional tickets may be available. More info to come in an email. GREAT WIN
