4/22/01 Pacer Down the Hollis Overlook 2-1

Posted by Dale Dubois on Apr 22 2001 at 05:00PM PDT
The Pacers started the spring season out with a win on Sunday against the Hollis Overlook Team 2-1. The Pacers started out slow and unorganized and found themselves down a goal early in the first half. It was to remain this way until Bertie O'Gorman muscled the ball down the field and found Jeff Guild, who tuck it in for the equalizer. The defense took over after that in a battle to prevent a goal. Joe Correai was given the goal keepers task and played excellent. The game continued back and forth until about midway thought the second half. Sean Kelly found an open Marco Kodman, who put away the winning goal. All of that strenuous winter conditioning paid off for the Pacers as they were clearly the more fit of the two teams. The Pacers are at home next Sunday against the Danvers Internationals. Please let Peter know via email if you can or cannot survive
