Bedford Continues to Slide Falling to Windham 2-1

Posted by Dale Dubois on Sep 29 2002 at 05:00PM PDT
The Bedford Pacers continue to slide in the D-2N standings as they lost their third straight one goal game to Windham. The Pacers were missing some key personel that could have made the difference in the 2-1 loss. Windham would strike first as a Pacer defender would miss play a ball on the wet field. Windham would capitalize, a sure sign of being in this division. About 5 minutes later, however, Joe Correai would be taken down in the area and it would result in a PK for the Pacers. Marco Koolman would take the honor and score on the PK pinging it off the left upright. Windham would come straight back, though, with a quick counter that would catch the Bedford defenders flat. The big striker for Windham would hit a rocket by Chris Cloutier, who got the nod for keeper duties. Chris had a good game making a few very tough saves that kept the Pacers in the match. The second half would be controlled by Bedford, but the score would not change. The Pacers were feeling the absence of their leading scorer, Jeff Bailey, as they could not find the equalizer. About midway through the half, Louie Correai would be called for tripping in the box on a questionable call. This would result in a PK for Windham. Elie Monteiro, (wasn't he supposed to play for us?) would miss the net to the right. Dale would get a yellow for explaining to the ref that he needs to do a better job following the play. Scott Sharby was also awarded a yellow in the first half for dancing with the keeper. Bedford would have their chances in the second half, but would not score and the game would end 2-1. The Pacers are back home against the other NH based team, Hollis, next Sunday at 9 AM at Legacy. Bedford is in need of a win to get back into contention. Lets show up to win, not just play...
