Sharby Gets Two as Pacers Tie Lowell 3-3

Posted by Dale Dubois on Oct 29 2001 at 04:00PM PST
Scott Sharby would get two goals as the Bedford Pacers would record their club record 5th tie this season against Lowell. The Pacers came to play, against the second ranked Lowell team with actually 4 subs. The Lowell team would score first on a blistering shot from the left back from 30 yards out. This surprised keeper, Chris Cloutier, who had an excellent game in the net. The Pacers would come back with the equalizer as Scott Sharby would net his first of two goals of the day. Scott would beat the keeper with a head ball off of a free kick from Dale about 25 yards out. The second half became very physical with the referee loosing control and the Lowell team speaking many languages. The Pacers would go up a goal of a beautiful side netting, no angle shot from Jeff Bailey after beating a defender. The play would become rough as Lowell tried to even the score. The yellow cards began to fly, Louie ran a guy and spoke a few words that were understood by the Lowell players. Then another yellow was issued as Dale headed the ball and Mario(A perfectly legal play that should have not been a yellow). There was another yellow for Rob(I think). A Red card and a shortened game would soon follow for Dale. The Pacers had enough card to open a Hallmark Store. So much for staying under ten card points. Anyhow, Lowell would tie the score and go up by one with the Pacers now playing short handed. However, the pacers would tie the score with minutes left in the game off of a free kick by Jeff Bailey that found Scott Sharby's head for his second goal of the day. This is how the score would end for the Pacers fifth tie of the season. The Pacers wrap up the fall season this Sunday with an away game against division champions Hollis at 9 AM at Hollis High School. Hollis will be moving up a division in the spring and Danvers will be moving into our division from 4N. It looks like Billerica will stay with no one being relegated from division 2N.
