5/6/01 Pacers Battle to a 2-2 Tie With Danvers and Wind

Posted by Dale Dubois on May 06 2001 at 05:00PM PDT
The wind played a big roll in the match between the Pacers and the Internationals of Danvers. Danvers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half as they had the wind to their back. One of these goals was questionable as the referee missed a foul against our keeper, Chris Cloutier. Since when is it a foul to hold on to the keepers shirt when he is triing to save the ball?? All these new rules.. The second half turned around as the Pacers were with the wind. Jeff Bailey netted the first Pacer goal with a beautiful header off a John Guild corner kick. The equalizer came from Scott Sharby as he muscled his way in to score after being fed a pass from Jeff Bailey. Who let Jeff play up front??? Isn't he a sweeper.... heads are going to roll.. The score would end tied and the Pacers earn another point. One good note... no Yellow or Red cards. The next game, the Pacers travel to Peobody to take on the always pleasant Spartans at 9:00 AM at Buckley Field. Check locations for a map. Hopefully they will have nets this time.
