Edgewater Defeats Archbishop Spalding to Move Into Semis

Via Beach Ball Classic Website Edgewater (FL) held off a second half charge by Archbishop Spalding (MD) for a 66-54 victory to move into the semifinals of the 2003 Beach Ball Classic. After leading 30-23 at halftime, Edgewater (5-2) watched Archbishop Spalding (7-1) open the second half with a 10-5 run and close the gap to 35-33 with 11:40 to play. After exchanging baskets, Edgewater went on a 14-3 run that would prove to seal the victory for the Eagles. The run left the Cavaliers trailing 51-38 with 6:35 on the clock. Brandon Johnson and Darius Washington led Edgewater with 22 and 21 points, respectively. The Eagles controlled the boards 33-20, resulting in 17 second chance points.
