March 27, San Marcos in North County Tournament
Mavs Beat San Marcos 7-2 in North County Tournament
March 25, 2015, at San Pasqual
- Mickey Moniak goes 2-3 scoring twice and driving in 2
- Ryan McClure drives in 2.
- Patrick MacNabb pitches 4 innings, giving up 2 runs for the Win.
- Nick Scheidler pitches the last 3 striking out 4.
MAVS beat San Pasqual 5-0 in North County Tournament
- Julian McDonald went 6.0, 3H, 0ER, 0BB, 3Ks to get the win.
- Anthony Roberts pitched the 7th, striking out 1.
- Ryan McClure went 3-4, with a double and an RBI.
- Shane Potter went 2-3, with a walk and 2 RBIs.
- Reese Anthony (RF) made a spectacular over the head running catch and turned and threw a laser to Potter on 1B to double up the runner.
March 23, 2015, vs Ramona
MAVS beat Ramona to open North County Tournament, 2-0
- Brenden Kawaja pitched 7 dominating, scoreless innings. 0 walks, 7 hits, 4 Ks
- Scoreless into the 6th, when Shane Potter doubled deep to left field, driving in Ryan McClure.
- Reed Labar hit a line drive Sac Fly to Left field to drive in Griffin Teisher from 3b.
- With men on 1st and 2nd, 1 out in the 5th, Mickey Moniak hit a towering fly ball to shallow left field. No infield fly rule was called, but somehow, Ramona ended up with a double play. Anyone with information as to the official ruling on how this could possibly happen, please contact LCC baseball. The umps could not explain it.
- Mavs are now 6-1 on the year.

March 21, 2015, at Hilltop vs. Cathedral Catholic
Championship Game of the Hilltop Tournament
Mavs beat Cathedral 4-3 to win tournament.
- Mavs beat No. 2 ranked Cathedral
- Ethan Abrams pitched a complete game. 7 hits, 3ER, 5Ks
- Ryan Casper and Ryan Orr each had big RBIs. Shane Potter added a bases loaded RBI walk.

March 19, 2015, at Hilltop
Mavs beat Hilltop 6-0 to advance to the Tournament Championship Game.
- Patrick MacNabb went 6.0 innings, gave up 6 hits, no ER, 0 BB and had 5 Ks.
- Hilltop pitching had a no hitter through 5 innings. In the 6th inning, Mickey Moniak lead off with a line drive double. Keven Alazard singled Moniak home and the flood gates were open.
- The Mavs ended up with 11 hits. Ryan Orr, Reed Labar and Moniak each had 2 hits.
- Ryan Casper pitched the 7th to preserve the shut out.
- With the win the Mavs advance to the Championship Game.
March 17, 2015, home vs. Ramona
5th Ranked Ramona beats Mavs 1-0.
- Julian McDonald pitched a fantastic game. 7.0 3hits, 0 BB, 6 Ks and located his pitches all afternoon. Ramona had only 1 baserunner LOB.
- Ramona scored on a single, sac bunt, and single. Tip your hat.
- Mavs hit the ball hard (only 3 Ks) but mostly right at the fielders.
- Mavs had several scoring chances -- e.g. man on second in the 7th with 1 out -- but could not come up with the big hit.
- Ryan Orr threw out another runner -- picked off at 1b.
March 13, 2015, home vs. Rancho Bernardo
Mavs beat 1st ranked Rancho Bernardo 5-1.
- Brendan Kawaja goes a strong 6 innings, walking 0, 1ER, 2 Ks to get the win
- Nick Scheidler finished the game striking out two.
- Ryan Orr knocked in Jose Palomo for the first run in the 4th. Ryan McClure knocked in the 2nd run in the 5th.
- In the 6th with bases loaded, 1 out, Mickey Moniak made the catch and threw a laser to get the runner at home protecting the lead.
- In bottom of the 6th, with bases loaded, Ryan Casper laced a two run double down the left field line scoring two and securing the game.
March 11, 2015, vs. Granite Hills
Mavs beat 4th ranked Granite Hills 3-0.
- Coach Machado notches his 400th victory. Congrats Skip.
- Ethan Abrams pitches a complete game. 3 hits, 6 ks.
- Ryan Orr's big 2 out double produces 1st run in the 4th. Reed Labar and Mickey Moniak each added RBIs.
- Mavs steal 3 more bases.
- Again, stellar defense by the Mavs. No errors.
March 9, 2015 at Santana
Mavs beat Santana 6-0 in season opener.
- Patrick MacNabb and Nick Scheidler combined for a 7 hit shutout.
- Mickey Moniak went 3-5 with 2 RBIs
- Ryan McClure went 2-3 with 2 RBIs with 2 SBs.
- Great Defense by the Mavs, no errors and a number of great plays.
- Ryan Orr throws out 2 runners trying to steal 2b.
- Mavs steal 3 bases.

TOP SOPHOMORE: La Costa Canyon outfielder Mickey Moniak has been named the state Sophomore Player of the Year by Cal-Hi Sports. Moniak hit .461 with two homers and 27 RBIs this season. He scored 34 runs, had 10 doubles and stole 17 bases. Plus, he had a school-record 53 hits. "Mickey is a really good player, and an even better kid," said LCC coach Justin Machado. "He's gifted, but he works hard and doesn't take anything for granted."
The last Sophomore Player of the year from San Diego was Alex Jackson of Rancho Bernardo, who was the sixth player taken in the 2014 MLB draft.
