Five Runs In The Top Of The First Inning Boosts Steele Canyon To a 7-0 Win

Posted by Ruth Stoffel on Jun 11 2011 at 05:00PM PDT

Steele Canyon pitcher Michael Cederoth, a six foot six inch right handed pitcher had been beaten by the Mavericks less than a week earlier, but with a 5-0 lead before he took the mound he was a different pitcher.  Cederoth was consistently clocked on the radar gun at 93-94 mph, with a change of speed pitch that he was getting in for strikes.  Maverick right handed hitters were fouling pitches off down the right field line and then lining the change of speed pitch into the third base dug out. Cederoth struck out seven, walked two and hit three batters. However the Steele Canyon defense was flaw less.

When the Mavericks did square up and drive the ball, it was hit right at a defender.

Matt Hall had the only two hits.  Evan Schrieber pitched six strong innings in relief allowing only 2 runs on three hits.
