Mavericks Win 7-1 To Sweep First Series

Posted by Neil Miller on Apr 16 2010 at 05:00PM PDT
The Mavericks showed up with big plans to walk away with this game early, but Mission Hills had other ideas......

At the end of three innings LCC was down 1-0.  The Mavericks managed to scratch out a run to tie it in the 4th, but things didn't look good until the 5th inning when Andrew Solomon banged a 3 RBI triple that put the Mavericks ahead for good.  The Mavericks pitching and error-free defense held on for a 7-1 victory.  With this win, the boys swept the first series of the league season.

Colin Winters started and threw three strong innings.  Carter Johnson relieved and got the win with three exceptional innings.  Keats Ewing closed it in the 7th.

Hitters for the day included Allmaras, Casas, Casinelli, Davern, Miller, Solomon, and Winters.

The Mavericks now move to 3-0 in the league, and 19-2 for the season.
