LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

LCC lost to Mira Mesa 7-2 in the play-in round of Division I CIF Playoffs to conclude the season. Sean Soto (1K, 1BB) started on the mound allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits in 3 2/3 innings. Tim Perreira (1K) worked 1/3 inning with no hits and no runs. Chris Brookey (1K, 1BB) pitched in relief allowing 0 runs on 0 hits in 2 innings. Offensively the Mavs collected 6 hits led by Brookey (2-3, 2B, RBI), Aaron Markham (1-3, RBI), Rusty Leedy (1-3), Jack Davidson (1-3) and Danny Bethea (1-3). The Mavs scored one run in the 4th on back-to-back singles by Davidson and Brookey. In the 7th, the Mavs rallied but fell short scoring one run on Brookey’s lead-off double and Markham’s RBI single . The Marauders capitalized on 7 hits and defensive errors for the win. The Mavericks finish the 2007 season with an overall record of 16-15.
