LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Solid pitching, defense and offense came together today as La Costa Canyon defeated Valencia 9-1 in the second game of the 2007 Lions Tournament at Grossmont HS. Starting pitcher Sean Soto limited the Vikings to one run on 4 hits (7K, 3BB) in 6 innings of work. Tyler Korn (1H, 1K, 1BB) pitched a scoreless 7th inning. The Mavs scored 9 runs on 15 hits. Jack Davidson (3 for 4, 3 RBI), Zach Gage (3 for 4, RBI), Aaron Markham (2 for 3, 2B, RBI) and Grant Allgire (2 for 4, RBI) led the offense. Chris Brookey (2 for 4, HR, 2 RBI) hit a 2 run home run over the left field fence in the 6th inning. The Mavericks play Edison Huntington Beach in the third game of the Lions Tournament at home on Wednesday.
