La Costa entered the 6^th inning down 1-0 to a strong Grossmont team. After 2 walks and 2 singles tied the score, Will Swanner supplied the heroics with a towering grand slam to right-center to put Mavs on top for good. Garrett Hughes went the distance on the mound in another strong start, holding the Hillers to 1 run on 3 hits. He struck out 6 batters. The Mavs scored 2 more in the 7^th on a bunt single by Mitch Tybroski, an RBI double by Zach Gage and a sac fly by Grant Jochem to post a final 7-1 victory.
