LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

The 2012 Mavericks won the Avocado West League Championship and the CIF Division II Championship with an extra inning win over Rancho Bernardo.  The Mavericks finished the 2012 year ranked No: 3 in San Diego County; 9th in the State of California, and 60th in the National Poll, with an overall record of 22-9-1.

  At that first preseason scrimmage in February between Vista and La Costa Canyon, few people were predicting that the two respective coaching staffs would develop their teams in to the Division I and Division II CIF Champions; with State rankings of No. 1 and No. 9, respectively.

   Vista became the first San Diego County team to earn the State No: 1 ranking since La Costa Canyon in 2003; joining Rancho Bernardo (2000), Mira Mesa (1992), Santana (1986), Mt Carmel (1982) and Crawford (1065).
