LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

With a victory in game one and footlong subways in their tanks, the Mavericks headed in to the second game of the doubleheader with Fallbrook.  Some parents were concerned - would the boys be able to get up for another game, or might they be slow out of the gate???

In the top of the first, Fallbrook jumped out to a two run lead.  The Mav's responded with two of their own.  Fallbrook then answered with another, but the Mavericks replied with SIX.  From there it was typical Maverick brute force offense, on a field that just cannot contain the boys.  The Mavericks went on to win the game and sweep the series.  The final score was LCC 15, Fallbrook 6.

Solomon and Davern both hit homeruns and Winters, Balderas, Johnson, and Ewing all added hits.

Kyle Sachrison got the win pitching four innings.  He was relieved by Keats Ewing, and Austin Baere closed in the 7th.

Interesting fact for the day - The Maverick defense turned four double-plays during the day's doubleheader.  Nice work.

The Mavericks now retain their perfect league record of 11-0 and they now move to 27-2 for the season.
