LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Garrett Hughes was too much for the Fallbrook Warriors, pitching 6 strong innings. He struck out 9 while allowing just 5 hits. 2 of the hits were solo home runs, accounting for the 2 Warrior runs. Michael Swanner closed the 7^th inning, striking out 3. The Mav offense struck in the 2^nd inning with a hit batter, 3 walks and a 2 run single by Mitch Tybroski.  Phil Evans started off the 5^th with a walk, Will Swanner followed with a single, Grant Jochem bounced a shot off the 3^rd baseman’s glove to plate Evans and Matt Lindberg drove in Swanner with a grounder to 2^nd.  La Costa scored 2 more in the 6^th on 2 more errors by the Fallbrook 3^rd baseman and an RBI single by Swanner. Lindberg added a solo homer in the 7^th to complete the Mav scoring. Swanner finished the day going 3 for 4 to lead the offense.
