LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Solid defense and pitching by both LCC and RB led to a 3 1/2 hour, 12 inning game with the Mavs defeating the Broncos 4-3. Sean Soto (6K, 1BB) started on the mound allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings. Tim Perreira (2BB) pitched a scoreless 8th allowing 1 hit. Chris Brookey (2K, 1BB) shut out the Broncos the next 4 innings allowing 3 hits. The Mavs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with Brian Martutartus (3-5, 2B) scoring the first run and Zach Gage (1-5) scoring on Aaron Markham's (2-5, 2RBI) single. The Broncos tied the game in the 4th and took a one run lead in the 5th. The Mavs tied the game in the 7th on Grant Allgire's RBI single scoring Chris Fasulo. The game remained tied until the bottom of the 12th when the Mavs scored the winning run on a bases loaded walk. The Mavs travel to Poway on Tuesday.
