LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

La Costa Canyon rallied from a 3-1 deficit to take care of business and beat Mt Carmel 5-3. Doug Konoske pitched a complete game for his 9th win of the year allowing only 4 hits and striking out 9. Chris Smith and Nick Burke contributed the clutch hitting. The Mavericks finished the Avocado League with a 10-5 record, 21-9 overall, but more importantly appeared to hang on to the No: 4 seed in the CIF Division I rankings and hopefully a first day bye in the CIF Playoffs. Mt Carmel fell to 7-8 and 17-13 overall, but based upon strength of schedule they should still make the CIF Playoffs.
