LA COSTA CANYON HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

The Mavericks won Game 2 of the Falcon Pirate Tournament with solid defense and a strong performance by senior starting pitcher, Sean Soto (6 IP, 4K) allowing one run on three hits. Senior Tim Perreira retired the Marauders in order in the 7th to earn his first Save. Offensively the Mavs collected five hits led by seniors Chris Brookey (2-3, 2 SB, 1RS), Rusty Leedy (1-3, 2 SB, 1 RBI, 1RS), Brian Martutarus (1-4, 2B, 1 RBI) and sophomore Zach Gage (1-4, 2B, 1RS). The Mavericks continue tournament play Friday against Pt. Loma at 3:15.
