Hi all,

As mentioned, my notes on here will generally be just random thoughts about our progress, things to work on, etc.

I thought our first practice was OUTSTANDING! We’ve got some gifted players on this team, and with several long time friendships already in place, I know this is going to be a fun season for the boys.

A few things – I want to make sure all the boys have read and signed the team rules with each of you. I will be asking them directly for them on Saturday – they’ll be running laps if they don’t bring it!

Also, schedule restrictions prevent us from having more than 2 practices per week, but I encouraged them to get out and play catch as much as possible – especially since several boys haven’t picked up a ball since last season! Their learning curve is huge right now and we need to take advantage of that to be ready for the start of the season. They were told to get home from school, do their homework, complete their chores, and then get outside – in that order! They can work on their thumb dexterity during someone else’s season! ;o)

Finally, this Saturday’s practice will include some sliding drills. We’ll be watering down the field prior to practice to soften it up a bit but if they have sliding shorts to wear underneath their pants it would help.

Hi parents,

Looking forward to a great season! Just a reminder on a few items:

• First practice is TONIGHT at 4pm. Expect it to run until sundown (we’ll get to a set timetable once we have more light.)

• Team colors – grey pants, orange belt, and orange socks

• There will be a parent meeting at 5:15. Please do whatever you can to be there. We’ll discuss some of the ground rules we’ll have, expectations, opportunities to volunteer, etc.

• The 3 official Coach spots are filled, but the more parents that can participate each practice, the better. Extra parents = extra stations = extra reps instead of standing around waiting for your turn!

• Please let me know any time your son will be late or absent from practices or games. You can either do that on the website or text me directly. We will likely be starting the season with only 10 players due to an injury so it is critical to make sure we have enough to play.
