Ok, so with today’s rainout the makeup is officially this Monday the 19th, with our regularly scheduled game the very next day!

This means that almost anybody could be used as a pitcher for an inning Monday – it may not be the prettiest game but we’ll get through it.

Please be sure to have your son ready to begin warmups by 4pm both days. We are still operating short-handed so it’s critical to know as far in advance as possible if he’s not going to be able to make a game.

Winning is ALWAYS more fun, right?

Pretty amazing what these boys pulled off last night. From all of them needing to play the entire game (BIG props to Luke for catching the whole game) to us having to take an automatic out each time through the order due to injury, that’s NOT a game Vegas would have thought we could win!

HUGE improvements across the board on defense – you don’t normally see play made after play made for 2 straight innings like we got yesterday very often. We also improved on picking up on the signs (but please keep working with them on that – we did miss a few.)

One major ask – for every game, we MUST have a scorekeeper if we are the home team and a pitch counter if we’re visitor. We got lucky yesterday with the A’s willing to do both, but it can actually be a forfeit if we don’t cover our end. My perfect scenario would be for someone to own this, and have them use this site to ask for assistance for any games they may need to miss. I promise scorekeeping is easy!

It’s games like that one that make me love baseball! Only 1 game in and I can tell there’s no quit in these boys!

Morning games tend to have that “still sleepy” start – we were clearly the better team for 4 of the 6 innings. The coaches and I have identified a few things for each boy that we need to coach them up on – there will definitely be improvement as we go!

Just a heads up – we are already at 2 of our 11 players being “may or may not be able to play” tomorrow due to illness / injury, leaving us with only 9. If anyone can’t make it please let me know ASAP so I can look into using the league’s player pool. Otherwise, we’re looking at a possible forfeit.

Sorry for the late notice but we are going to get together tomorrow if you’re in town. Practice will be 4-5:30 on Field 6 (the lower level field closest to Poway Rd.)

No biggie if you can’t make it – field availability is very scarce so I wanted to get something in this week.
