The 8th Grade Girls soccer team has had a successful first half to the season. We have scored goals, secured a win, and are developmentally moving ahead much more quickly than we had anticipated. Next up, we hope to secure a conference win while continuing to improve skills and understanding of the game. Thank you parents for your support!

Have a wonderful holiday,

I competed in both high school and college in track and field as a sprinter. I also competed in basketball in high school and was fortunate enough to be a member of the 1986 5A girls basketball state championship team.

I have coached youth and college level athletic teams including soccer, basketball and cross country. My main goal as soccer coach is to ensure that the kids have fun and develop as young soccer players. I hope to be able to teach them needed skills to help them improve. I will have fun practices that focus on technical skills and enjoying the game.

I will be encouraging the players to try new things, to be creative and to support each other in that experimentation. It is my hope that the children will have the confidence to work on their skills during games as well. We will try to move up and down the field as a team, use combination plays and give proper offensive and defensive support. Players will play multiple positions to help them learn all parts of the game and we will be spending only a small amount of time on tactics. We will spend most of our time on skill development and awareness, not positional duties and set plays as I prepare the 8th graders for the next level of play.
