If you haven’t ever been to a Chapin Wrestling Match – it is a MUST SEE!Come out and experience t... [more]
Glad we were able to get the meet in yesterday. Thank you all for pitching in to help in Coach Hines absence. Special thanks to Susan Thomas for doing a great job on the sign out sheet and to the three seniors – Evan,Jared, and Mason who jumped in to help in every aspect from loading and unloading the bus, distributing race bibs, directing teammates- Awesome job!
Our next meet is a home meet. I would appreciate it if those who helped last home meet would take their same posts for the Sept 10 meet.Any newbbes can jump in the help as well.
The athletes requested that we have someone calling out the mile and two mile splits at the home meets and this is something I think is very important. If we can get a volunteer to start a stopwatch and run/ bike to the splits it would be great. The splirts are 20 yds apart so it will be easy to walk between them to supply the splits. Let me know if you’re interested. Both splits are near the CCP main building.
Please do not leave the meet after signing out your athlete without talking with me first. We want to develop a team concept and two things are important- support athletes who earn honors at the meet and meet as a group for final comments at the end of the meet. If there is a valid reason that you have to leave early please talk with me .
Lastly please read the emails carefully- I’ll try to have starting times procedures etc as clearly spelled out as possible. Things are always fluid so changes occur during the season- for instance yesterday we all waited at the old gym for bus pickup- the site has been the same for 34 years. After the bus wasn’t there at 4 PM I called the AD and he informed me the bus pick up and drop off is in the lower parking lot near the field house. So in the future we will leave and return to the parking lot next to the field house at the opposite end of the campus.
