Dewey Hom called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Commissioner Dewey Hom began the meeting with addressing the decision that was made in a special meeting held 12-30-15 with a vote of 8-1-2 abstentions, to eliminate senior bats and have the National League use bats approved by the ASA. This decision was precipitated by the concern for walkers outside of the ballpark and players safety. CSSA was formed to provide men, 50 and older, a place to play recreational softball. The Board of Directors is following CSSA’s original intent, charter and guidelines. We believe there is a place for Senior tournament play, it’s simply not at CSSA.

The National League director and managers expressed there displeasure with this decision and stated they will be looking at the possibility of leaving the CSSA so that they can continue using senior bats. Various board members expressed a desire to come to some kind of agreement so that the players in the National League can continue playing in the CSSA. This portion of the Board meeting ended with no definite resolution from the National League Director and managers.

The general Board meeting continued. Pete Fowler, National League Director excused himself from the meeting.
