News and Announcements

Hello Lady Titan Family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. I just wanted to touch base with all of you to let you know what’s coming up in the near future:

Fall Indoor Sessions:
In only one week, sessions will be on every Tuesday night at Lakeland Community Church from 8pm – 10pm start on 11 SEPT and going through 30 OCT. This is a perfect time to bring in new players to learn the fundamentals so each new player can “try before they buy” as registration will be in December. Cost will be $80. (Checks made out to LSW Lacrosse)

Fall Ball 7v7:
Like last fall, these sessions will be every Sunday afternoon in October with the playoffs going into the first Sunday of November at Blue Valley North HS (One block south of the Sprint campus in OPK). As of last week, LSW had only 20 girls registered. You can register on www.kcgirlslax.com and click the green Register Now button. Cost is $100. THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR 7v7 IS 15 SEPT.

Registration for Spring 2019 season:
I believe the LSW Lacrosse Board has chosen 1 DEC and 5 DEC as our registration dates onsite at LSW. Mark your calendars and we’ll share the times when those details are nailed down.

Winter Indoor Sessions:
Due to an unforeseen scheduling mixup with the church, we will have the Winter Indoor Sessions at Lakeland Community Church from 1pm – 3pm on Sunday afternoons starting on 6 JAN and going through 24 FEB. I apologize for the scheduling on Sunday afternoons, but it was the only time slots available when the mixup was noticed. Cost will be $80. (Checks made out to LSW Lacrosse)

Start of Spring 2019 Season and Varsity Tryouts:
Varsity tryouts will be scheduled from 25-28 FEB at LSW.

That should be everything until we start the season. Should you have any questions , feel free to reach out to me at 816-977-5707 or at lswhsgirlslax@gmail.com

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

Now that we are back to school, things will start to pick up as we head into the new Spring 2019 season. Although it seems far away now, it will be here before we know it, so I want to list out all the things that will be going on prior to the start of the season:

Fall Indoor Sessions:
Every Tuesday night at Lakeland Community Church from 8pm – 10pm start on 11 SEPT and going through 30 OCT. This is a perfect time to bring in new players to learn the fundamentals so each new player can “try before they buy” as registration will be in December. Cost will be $80.

Fall Ball 7v7:
Like last fall, these sessions will be every Sunday afternoon in October with the playoffs going into the first Sunday of November at Blue Valley North HS (One block south of the Sprint campus in OPK). As of last week, LSW had only 12 girls registered, which only gives us enough for 1 team. I would like this number to be higher so we can field a Varsity and a JV team to give girls more playing time. You can register on www.kcgirlslax.com and click the green Register Now button. Cost is $100.

Registration for Spring 2019 season:
This is usually in the first week of December onsite at LSW. Mark your calendars and we’ll share the dates and times when those details are nailed down.

Winter Indoor Sessions:
Every Tuesday night at Lakeland Community Church from 8pm – 10pm starting on 1 JAN and going through 19 FEB. I apologize for scheduling a session on New Year’s Day, but to get 8 weeks of training in, we had to start that early because the official start of the Spring 2019 season is 25 FEB, so our final indoor session will be the Tuesday before on 19 FEB. Cost will be $80.

Go Titans!!!

How's Your Summer Going???

Posted by Jay Hertzler at Jul 13, 2018 7:14AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family.

I know we haven’t chatted in a while (since the banquet in May). I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. I know we have some players participating in Summer club lacrosse (Blue Lions, Major Force Lax, Nike Excelerate LAX Camps, etc…) I am really excited to see so many players working on their skills in preparation for next season.

Here’s some things to note as we get closer to the start of the school year:

- First, I was informed last week that Bryanna Hamblin and her family will be moving to the Washington DC area this summer. Losing Bry from the team will be a huge loss in both talent and leadership. I wanted to wish Bry and her family the best of luck as I am sure she’ll be playing lax in Virginia and I am excited to see how she will tear it up on the east coast. If you have a chance to get in touch with her, please let her know how much she’ll be missed.

- Second, with the loss of coaches Brian and Chris, I have been working on bringing in new coaches on to the coaching staff. As of today, we will be officially adding Coach Brian Cox (B2) on the staff to continue to work with the goalkeepers, and we will also be adding Coach Ernie Cobbett to the staff, who will taking over the defense. Coach Ernie brings a great deal of passion for the sport, and years of experience coaching girl’s lacrosse from his time as the LS United Youth Girl’s lax coach. Welcome to both Brian and Ernie to the coaching staff. If you are doing your math right, that still leaves an opening for an assistant coach for the Attack. I am still looking to backfill this position, so if any of you are interested (or know someone who may be), please get in touch with me ASAP at 816-977-5707.

- Third, there will be some additional summer and fall opportunities coming up that I wanted to make everyone aware of so you can mark your calendars:
- Heartland Lacrosse HS Girls LAX Camp: Sunday’s at 5:45pm at Shawnee Mission East HS. 9 SEPT – 30 SEPT. For details, go to http://www.kcheartlandlaxclub.com/fall-premier-academy
-
LSW Fall Indoor Sessions: Tuesday nights from 8pm – 10pm at Lakeland Community Church. 11 SEPT – 30 OCT. Cost will be $80. This would be a great opportunity for new players at LSW to try out the sport and learn the fundamentals.
— Fall 7v7 league: Sunday afternoons in OCT. Location TBD. Last year our JV team went to the semi-finals, and our Varsity team lost to LSN in the final. This is a wonderful opportunity to get used to the speed of the game again in preparation for the spring season.

Well, I think that’s it for now. As we get closer to the school year, I am sure I’ll have more information to pass along. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!
