News and Announcements

Lady Titan LAX Family,

First, I want to congratulate our LSW Blue Varsity 7v7 team as they went 10-0 in Fall Ball and beat St. Teresa’s Academy 12-9 to win the Fall Ball Championship. This is the first time in our program’s history that we have defeated St. Teresa’s at the varsity level, so it was truly a big day for me. In 10 games, we had 149 GF vs 54 GA…I think it’s safe to say we had a strong fall ball season, and I think we put the league on notice that we are focused on dominating the upcoming Spring season. Our LSW Silver JV 7v7 team beat the St. Thomas Aquinas JV team 18-6, but fell to the Aquinas Varsity team 12-5 in their divisional championship game. I am truly pleased with the growth and progression of that team all throughout the fall ball campaign, and I am confident our JV team will be in league JV championship game for the 4th year in a row come next May. Well done to all the players and parents for braving cold weather conditions to play fall ball. Thank you so much for your participation!

We have a pretty exciting week in front of us this week, so I want to make sure all of you know what’s going on:

  • Wednesday 14 NOV – Ashlynn Boydston will be signing her National Letter of Intent at the LSW Field House at 2:45pm. She is committing to play lacrosse at Missouri Valley College. I would like to invite all players, coaches and parents to attend to support her. She has worked very hard on her game to get to the next level, and we are very proud of her.
  • Wednesday 14 NOV – New player/parent meeting at the LSW Lecture Hall at 7pm. I recommend that every player and parent attend this meeting if you have never played a game for LSW, even if you have been with us for indoor and/or 7v7. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season, how we run the club, costs, out of town tournaments, practice schedules, etc. If any of you know of a student or parent who may be interested, tell them to attend this meeting.

That is it for what is happening this week. I also wanted to let you know that I have activated the TeamPages Online Registration link so you can get registered online. This will be for data-entry only, as we cannot accept payment until we see you in person. If you can take a few minutes to complete this registration, I would appreciate it. Here’s the link:
https://teampages.com/forms/18869-2019-Spring-Season-Lacrosse-Registration

Here are the in-person Registration dates and times:

  • 1 DEC 9am – 1pm in the LSW Lecture Hall (Bateman Hall)
  • 5 DEC 5pm – 8pm in the LSW Library & Media Center
  • All new players MUST attend one of these in-person sessions to get properly sized for a uniform and choose their jersey number from available numbers and submit payment.
  • All returning players MUST attend one of these in-person sessions to submit your payment.

Here are the expected costs for the Spring 2019 season:

  • All Players – The annual club due will be increased to $225 (up from $200 last season).
  • All Players – There will NOT be a fundraiser this year, so nobody will have to sell coupon books this season. That means there will not be a $120 buyout expense, nor the requirement to sell 30 coupon books at $5 each for the player.
  • All Players – US Lacrosse Membership ($35/yr @ www.uslacrosse.org)
  • New Players – The purchase of a uniform for $101 plus cost of socks.

That’s it for now…I hope to see you on Wednesday for the Ashlynn’s signing and/or the Informational Meeting.
If I don’t see you, have a very Happy Thanksgiving holiday, and we’ll see you on one of the two registration days.

~Coach Jay

Lady Titan LAX Family,

Registration for the Spring 2019 is only a couple of weeks away. Last night, the LSW Lacrosse Board had a meeting and have implemented some changes in what the club is going to charge players/parents for this upcoming season based on the current fiscal health of the club. They are as follows:

  • The annual club due will be increased to $225 (up from $200 last season).
  • There will NOT be a fundraiser this year, so nobody will have to sell coupon books this season.
  • US Lacrosse Membership ($35/yr @ www.uslacrosse.org)
  • There will not be a $120 buyout expense, or the requirement to sell 30 coupon books at $5 each for the player.
  • New players will need to purchase a uniform for $101 plus cost of socks.

I am going to ask that all of you complete the “Online Registration” on our Teampages site prior to registration in December. This is for data-entry only (i.e. personal contact info, emergency info, allergies, etc.) The online registration form will ask for the player’s US Lacrosse Membership number and expiration date, so please make sure to renew the membership prior to completing the online form.

We will still need to collect payment on the in-person Registration dates. All payments must be via cash or check. We currently do not have the ability to accept payment via credit card.

Here’s the link to the online registration form.

Posted by Jay Hertzler at Nov 6, 2018 4:52AM PST ( 0 Comments )

OK,

The playoff schedules for next Sunday have been posted. Here’s what they look like:

LSW Blue: Field #1
1st round bye
1:30pm game vs the winner of the Park Blue vs BV White game (expect to play Park)
3:30pm Championship game (if we win the 1:30pm game)

LSW Silver: Field #3
1st round bye
2:30pm game vs the winner of LSHS vs Aquinas Navy
3:30pm Championship game (if we win the 2:30pm game)

So, it looks like both of our teams have a shorter path to the championship with each team with 1st round byes. Let’s play our hearts out for 2 games each and win it all.

See you Sunday!

Lady Titan LAX Family,

I just wanted to let all of you know that there will be a LSW Lacrosse Board meeting next Thursday evening (8 NOV) at 7pm at LSW. (Either Bateman Hall or the Library).

Although attendance at these Board Meetings is optional for those not currently serving on the Board, we usually have open positions for volunteers to assist with various committees and activities.

These meetings allow the board and whomever is in attendance to hear updates from both the boys and girls coaches on how things are progressing, upcoming events to plan for, and we also discuss the fiscal health of the club as a whole.

If you have any interest in sharing your time and talent as a volunteer to help out, we would appreciate your help. In my opinion, we have the strongest and best-run lacrosse board in the KC Metro, and it truly does take a village to make it that way. If you might be interested, or have questions, please feel free to contact me.

Hopefully we’ll see you on Thursday!

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,
First, our 7v7 games went very well yesterday. Our LSW Blue team finished undefeated (8-0) with 127 Goals For vs 38 Goals Against. Our LSW Silver team finished 2-5 with 57 GF vs 89 GA. Although the record for the Silver team may not look very good at first glance, this team played against Varsity-level teams 3-4 times, so I am pleased with how well we competed…especially when we had first-time players on the field who had never played the game before. The playoffs will be next Sunday 11 NOV. The schedule has not been posted yet, but as soon as it comes out, I’ll share it with everyone.
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about what is coming up this next week:
Sunday 11 NOV – Game times for 7v7 games TBD. I will share the times as soon as I get them.

Here’s some important things to note of what we have coming up with the LSW LAXClub.
Wednesday 14 NOV – We have a couple of big events happening on this day. First, we have Senior Ashlynn Boydston signing her National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse for Missouri Valley College. This ceremony will be right after school in the LSW Field House. We are so proud of Ashlynn as this has been a dream of hers for years now. The ceremony starts at 2:45pm.
Secondly, this will be the first year our club will have a New Player/New Parent Information Meeting. We have scheduled this for 14 NOV at 7pm at the LSW Lecture Hall. If you know of any girl who may be interested in playing lacrosse for LSW this upcoming Spring, let them know about this meeting. We would love to have the student and parents there. We will be discussing everything about our club, our team, the league we play in, the costs. We wanted to have this meeting prior to registration so they can make an informed decision. Please spread the word!!

1 DEC & 5 DEC – This is coming up quickly. In-person registration sessions at LSW where you can complete the registration, buy spirit-wear, and write the big check. It is imperative that all new players who do not have an LSW uniform make it to one of these sessions to get properly fitted for a uniform.
Here is a quick checklist of what you need to have completed before you walk into LSWto attend the in-person Registration in December:
- A current US Lacrosse membership that is valid through 1 JUNE 2019. To complete this, go to www.uslacrosse.org and Join (for new players) or Renew (for returning players). Please let me know if you have any questions. If during this process you are asked for which club you are a part of, choose KC Metro Girls Lacrosse
- A current sports physical that is uploaded into the PRIVIT website. (The sports office will not accept paper copies) I have attached the “how-to” document for you. Also, here’s the website: https://lswtitans-mo.e-ppe.com/index.jspa
- Complete the online registration on the Teampages site (that is not active yet. I will let you know when it is)
That’s it for this week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
