News and Announcements

Lady Titan LAX Family,

It was brought to my attention that only 24 of the 40+ girls who attended the first indoor session last Sunday afternoon actually submitted the $80 payment for the indoor sessions. I normally don’t like to bug people for money, but i am going to ask that if you are attending these sessions and have yet to submit your payment, please do this as soon as you can. You can bring the $80 to school and hand it to Mr. Rasdall at Room 0184, or you can bring it with you next Sunday. Either way, please make sure you take care of this if you haven’t already.

Lakeland Community Church has already submitted their invoice for our club’s rental of the field for this 8-week session, and would like to get paid (who can blame them?).

Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

What a great start to 2019! Our team had its first indoor session of the winter at Lakeland Community Church yesterday afternoon. We had about 41 girls attend yesterday, which is the largest number we have ever had for indoor. I want everyone to know how excited that makes to the coaching staff to see so many girls participating. We have 7 more of these Sunday sessions before the official start of the Spring 2019 season, and I am very excited to see our team come together.

This upcoming Thursday evening, we will be having our monthly LSW Lacrosse Board Meeting at LSW’s Library at 7pm. These meetings are completely optional for everyone that is not on the Board. If you would like to attend, you are more than welcome. We can always use help with planning major events like Senior Night, the End of Season Banquet, etc. We will also discuss the fiscal health of the club and receive updates from the coaches from each team.

Last night at the end of practice I shared some information on some important events that I have planned for our team. There are 3 events that I wanted to make everyone aware of that are coming up. Please mark your calendars.

  • Team Lock-in on 15 FEB 2019 at Lakeland Community Church. We will be spending the night as a team (this will include members of the coaching staff) overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. I will be sending more details out as it gets closer. The church is allowing us to use the facility at no cost, so we just need to bring our own food & drink, and make sure we clean up after ourselves before we leave. Our team Seniors are taking the lead on planning the details for the lock-in. I’ll be sharing those details soon.
  • Lee’s Summit vs Omaha / Des Moines Playdate on 29-30 MARCH. They will travel to LSMO and we’ll have a 3v3 tournament where each LS team will play each Omaha/Des Moines team. All 3 Lee’s Summit girls teams will be playing. This is supposed to be a Varsity-level tournament, but the position coaches will be deciding which JV players they will want to invite to participate as the date gets closer.
  • KC vs STL Playdate on 5-6 APRIL. Our Varsity team will travel to St. Louis to play 3 STL area teams (1 on Fri night, 2 on Sat). As of right now, the 3 STL area teams are Lafayette, Cor Jesu and Parkway West. From KC, we have LSW and St. Teresa’s committed, and we are waiting on the 3rd team to commit.

I promise I have not forgotten about the JV team. We are waiting to hear from our contact at Columbia, MO on the details for the Columbia Tournament. As soon as I get details, I’ll share them with everyone.

That’s it for now. If anyone has any questions, please let me know. If you still owe money for the indoor sessions or for the season dues, please get your payments to Mr. Rasdall as soon as possible.

Have a great week.
~Coach Jay

Lady Titan Lacrosse Family,

I received this email from the Head of Officials in reference to our referee shortage here in the KC Metro area. It looks like their biggest need will be on the youth side…if any of our high school girls are willing to make some extra money on weekends officiating youth-level girl’s lacrosse, this could be a great opportunity. I believe we already have 1-2 of our players doing this…

Please read the email below and reach out to either Chris or Maria if you are interested.

To All:

The New Officials training is Saturday. Our new adult numbers are okay, (not great), our High School Player numbers (for youth games) is almost non-existent. I am hoping it is the “millennial” non-responsive, and 20 girls will just show up. My concern is that there is not, and that with no communication, no one will be there, and we will have a legitimate shortage for the youth season this Spring. Please forward to all your players, and insure that those that will be attending contact myself or Maria before Saturday. Training is the most critical and important part of what we do. We work hard and have a Division I Official leading the training and many Division II Officials also conducting the training.

Please help our cause.

Thank your for all your support in continuing our mission.

If interested, contact Maria Casillas at Maria.c.casillas1@gmail.com

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

As we say goodbye to 2018, I am truly excited that our season will be starting in about 8 weeks. We are also less than a week away from our first indoor session at Lakeland Community Church. Remember, we will be at indoor practices every Sunday afternoon starting on 6 JAN through 24 FEB from 1pm – 3pm. Cost is $80 and can be paid on the first day of indoor. If you are paying by check, please make it out to “LS West Lacrosse”

I will ask that if you have some action items that you still need to accomplish, please complete them before 6 JAN so I don’t have to pester you…and I will pester you.

Here’s what you need to take care of (if you haven’t already). I list these out because there are still players/parents who have not completed at least one of these tasks below:

Make sure you have completed your US Lacrosse Membership (whether a new US Lacrosse number, or a renewed membership). A player will not be able to take the field until she has an updated membership, so please have this taken care of as soon as possible. Once you have completed this, please email me with the new expiration date (or new USL membership number and expiration date if you are generating a new membership)

Make sure you have a valid sports physical on file in the PRIVIT website. Here’s the link:
https://lswtitans-mo.e-ppe.com/index.jspa
I have attached the “How-to” document on the process to get a digital copy of the sports physical into the website. If you have a paper copy, you’ll have to scan it and upload it into the site. If you have a physical on file from this year from a fall or winter sport, you are all done.

If you have not completed the online registration from our Teampages site, please complete it. This is how we gather information (phone numbers, emergency contacts, etc…). Here’s the link:
https://teampages.com/forms/18869-2019-Spring-Season-Lacrosse-Registration
If you click the link and it does not work, copy the link and paste it into the browser.

That’s it for now. I appreciate everyone’s attention to these items, and I look forward to the upcoming season. Please feel free to reach out to me at 816-977-5707 or lswhsgirlslax@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Have a great week. Celebrate safely tonight. See you on Sunday!!! Happy New Year!

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

We are about 1 week away from Christmas. Just a hint from good ‘ol Coach Jay, lacrosse equipment and spirit wear make great Christmas presents (wink, wink).
