Sorry for the confusion. Typical Monday….

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

WE ARE TWO WEEKS FROM THE START OF THE 2019 SPRING SEASON!!

It’s hard to believe we are that close to this party getting started. We have a few events coming up, so I want to make sure everyone marks their calendars.

The first draft of the 2019 season is days from being declared “official”…once it is, I’ll be sending it out to everyone. We currently have 5 home games, and 5 away games on the schedule. I may schedule a couple more home game dates soon.

Here is a list of events that are coming up:
LSW Lacrosse Board Meeting (Wednesday 13 FEB at 7pm) – The LSW LAX Board will be having its monthly board meeting this Wednesday at 7pm at LSW’s Bateman Hall. For non-Board members, attendance is optional. If any of you wish to donate your time and talent to the club, we could always use the help. We have a Senior Night and an End-of-Season banquet to plan along with other events. If anyone wants to volunteer to help, come to the meeting this Wednesday and drop your name in the hat.

TEAM LOCK-IN IS THIS FRIDAY (15 FEB) at Lakeland Community Church. We will be spending the night as a team (this will include members of the coaching staff) overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. Parents are welcome to come hang with us as well.
Here are the details:
Start time is 8pm. We will leave no later than 10am the next morning.
VERY IMPORTANT – NO NUTS OF ANY TYPE CAN BE BROUGHT IN AS SNACKS. WE HAVE A PLAYER WITH A NUT ALLERGY.
- Seniors will wear Neon Pink and bring sweet treats. Seniors will also be responsible for all activities.
- Juniors will wear Neon Green and bring salty treats
- Sophomores will wear Neon Yellow and bring drinks
- Freshman will wear Neon Orange and bring plates, cups, napkins, and silverware.
Also, make sure to bring pillows, blankets, phone chargers, etc….

Start of Spring Season / Varsity Tryouts – The official start of the Spring 2019 season is 25 FEB 2019. We will be moving our practices to LSW on Mondays through Thursday’s from 5pm – 7pm. Our practice field will be the field directly behind the tennis courts. We will be having our Varsity tryouts on Monday through Thursday of that week (25-28 FEB). Here’s a list of all things that MUST be completed prior to 25 FEB or you will NOT be allowed to take the field:
• US Lacrosse Membership – must be valid to around 1 JUNE 2019.
• Current Sports Physical – must be uploaded into PRIVT website.
• All dues paid.

NEW EVENTMANDATORY PARENT MEETING (1 March at 7pm) – The annual mandatory parent meeting is scheduled for Thursday 1 March at 7pm at LSW. We have requested Bateman Hall for the meeting. Once it’s confirmed, I’ll let everyone know. I want at least one (if not both) parents of each player on the team to attend this meeting. I want to introduce the coaching staff, discuss player and parent expectations, discuss the upcoming season, out of town tournaments, etc… Please make every effort to attend this meeting. I have found this meeting is very important on level-setting expectations from both the coach’s and the parent’s perspectives.

Lee’s Summit vs Omaha / Des Moines Playdate on 29-30 MARCH. They will travel to LSMO and we’ll have a small tournament where each LS team will play each Omaha/Des Moines team. All 3 Lee’s Summit girl’s teams will be playing, and as of right now there are 2 teams from Omaha/Des Moines committed to play. This is supposed to be a Varsity-level tournament, but the position coaches will be deciding which JV players they will want to invite to participate as the date gets closer.

KC vs STL Playdate on 5-6 APRIL. Our Varsity team will travel to St. Louis to play 3 STL area teams (1 on Fri night, 2 on Sat). As of right now, the 3 STL area teams are Lafayette, Cor Jesu and Parkway West. From KC, we have LSW, St. Teresa’s, Sion and Shawnee Mission committed. The schedule for that weekend has been posted. I will send out the details as we get closer to that weekend.

That’s it for now. If anyone has any questions, please let me know. If you still owe money for the indoor sessions or for the season dues, please get your payments to Mr. Rasdall in Room 0184 as soon as possible.

Have a great week. Feel Free to contact me with any questions.

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

We are in the final few weeks of our 8 indoor practice sessions. Our first-year players are now starting to participate in scrimmages with the veterans and are starting to get a feel for the game. Once they get a few more scrimmages under their belts, they’ll have a better understanding of the game when we get outdoors on the full-sized field.

We have completed our pictures for the 2019 program. If your daughter missed out on these pics, we can either use a pic from last season if she’s a returning player, or there will be no picture if she’s a new player.

The first draft of our 2019 Spring season has been posted for our review. By no means is this the final draft yet, so I am not ready to share it with all of you. We have reviewed our schedule and do not see any conflicts. We are waiting for all the other teams in the league to review theirs as well in case there are some changes that need to be made. As soon as the schedule is final, we’ll share it. We will have 10 games scheduled between 27 March and 2 MAY, so once the season starts, we will be very busy. Hold on to your hats, folks.

As for team information, there’s not much new information to post this week. Here are the key dates of things coming up this season:

On another note, I want to send a huge “Congratulations” to our lacrosse family members who are the Westside Girls who placed 2nd in Poms and 5th in Jazz at Nationals this week. Congrats to Rebecca Danforth and Jada Graves on your success!!!

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

We are halfway through our 8 indoor practice sessions. Our coaching staff has integrated our new players with our veteran players now, and our girls are looking better with every session that passes.

At yesterday’s practice, we began to introduce our new offensive strategy. We used video, and on-hands training. The players are taking to it, and we are well on our way to scoring a great deal of goals. Coach Ron asked that I share the online links to the videos we played yesterday. Here they are:

3v3 Drill:

Rules and play of the “Motion Offense”

We also took individual player pictures for this season’s program. If you missed it yesterday, we have one make-up date, which is this Sunday 3 FEB before practice. If you miss that date, your picture will NOT be in the program, so please do what you can to get your picture taken.

The first draft of our 2019 Spring season has been posted for our review. By no means is this the final draft yet, so I am not ready to share it with all of you. Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

We have completed 3 of 8 indoor practice sessions, our girls are looking better with every session that passes. We have a great turnout, the new players are learning at a fast pace, the veteran players are quickly getting to their mid-season form. The girls are working hard, and it will pay off when the season starts.

If you have not paid the $80 for the indoor sessions, please send a check to LSWHS and have it delivered to Mr. Rasdall in Room 0184 (ROTC Room). All checks should be made out to LS WEST LACROSSE. The coaching staff does not want to collect money at Lakeland unless Mr. Rasdall is there, so just giving him the money at the school makes it much easier.

I have received word that not everyone received my text message on last Saturday informing everyone that practice was moved up by 1 hour. I will ask that every person (player and/or parent) that has a TeamPages profile active “SMS Messages” so you can receive text messages when I have to send out very important information that is time sensitive. I have put together a “How-to” document that is attached to this email that should guide everyone on how to activate SMS (Text) Messages if you are currently not receiving any from TeamPages. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

As for team information, there’s not much new information to post this week. Here are the key dates of things coming up this season:

Team Lock-in on 15 FEB 2019 at Lakeland Community Church. We will be spending the night as a team (this will include members of the coaching staff) overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. I will be sending more details out as it gets closer. The church is allowing us to use the facility at no cost, so we just need to bring our own food & drink, and make sure we clean up after ourselves before we leave. Our team Seniors are taking the lead on planning the details for the lock-in. I’ll be sharing those details soon.

Start of Spring Season / Varsity Tryouts – The official start of the Spring 2019 season is 25 FEB 2019. We will be moving our practices to LSW.
