News and Announcements

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

As we come to the close of our 2021 regular season, I wanted to let everyone know that the end of season playoff schedule has been posted. Sadly, our JV team did not qualify to participate, but our Varsity team will go into the playoffs next week as the #1 seed in the metro. Here’s the breakdown of the playoffs. All games will be played at the Shawnee Mission home field at Westridge Middle School (9300 Neiman Rd, OPK)

Our league is split into 2 divisions, East and West. The East division is the top division made up of the top 6 Varsity teams in the metro, with the West Division being the remaining 6 teams. At the end of the regular season, the 6th place team in the East will be relegated to play in the West division next season, and the top team in the West will get promoted to play in the East. This season, it looks like St. James Academy will be promoted up, and LS North will be relegated. This will be fully determined by the end of this week when all of the regular season games are completed.

For the playoffs, all 6 teams in the East will play (Seeds 1-6), plus the top 2 of the West (Seeds 7 & 8). For Day 1 of the playoffs on Monday, here’s the breakdown of the quarterfinal games:

1 v 8 (#2 team from West Div)
2 v 7 (#1 team from West Div)
3 v 6
4 v 5

Our quarterfinal game on Monday looks to be against Park or St Thomas Aquinas at 6pm.

Should we win, we will play our Semifinal game at 8pm on Wednesday against the winner of the #4 v #5 game. Right now, that looks to be a game between St. Teresa’s Academy vs Shawnee Mission.

Should we win the Semifinal game, we will play the Championship game on Thursday night at 8pm against the winner of the other side of the bracket (2v7, 4v5)…which everyone believes that Blue Valley will be the team we face.

So, to recap, next week will be 6pm Monday, 8pm Wednesday and 8pm Thursday…but we have to keep winning to move on.

As for spectators, there has been no communication to me on any restrictions on number of people, so I would like to personally invite all of you to come watch the games. Just practice good COVID measures like wearing a mask while in the stands.

Hope that helps…please let me know if you have any questions.

Let’s win this thing!
~Coach Jay

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

Sorry this email is a day late. I wanted to give everyone a quick breakdown of what is going on between now and 13 MAY.

First, it pains me to say that the final game of the regular season this Friday night vs Shawnee Mission will be the final game for our JV team as they have been mathematically eliminated from the JV playoffs. Our Varsity team will go into Friday’s game with an 8-1 record, which guarantees them the #1 seed into the end-of-season playoffs starting next week.

So, here’s what is going on for this week

Tuesday 4 MAY 5pm – 7pm – Outdoor practice

Wednesday 5 MAY 5pm – 7pm – Outdoor practice. Depending on weather, we may be indoors. I will let everyone know sometime tomorrow.

Thursday 6 MAY 5pm – 7pm – Outdoor practice. This will be the final practice of the season for the JV team.

Friday 7 MAY = Game #10 at Shawnee Mission (Westridge MS, OPK). We will be playing away at Shawnee Mission. Their home field is at Westridge Middle School in Overland Park, KS. JV Game is at 5:30pm (be there by 4:45pm), Varsity game is at 7:00pm (be there by 6:15pm). It will be Shawnee Mission’s Senior Night, so I would love to play spoiler! I have attached directions to the field in this email. The address is 9300 Nieman Rd, OPK 66214. Expect a 30 min drive to the location.

The Playoffs will be on 10, 12 & 13 MAY.
The actual game times have not been posted yet. As soon as they are, I’ll let everyone know.

That’s it for this week.
We are almost done….let’s finish strong!

Lady Titan LAX Parents,

As we are getting close to the end of the season, preparations are already being made for the Summer ULAX league and for summer KC Elevate club lacrosse and league. I wanted to pass along this information if you are interested in participating in summer lacrosse after the season to continue to work on your skills. Usually for the summer, the coaching staff takes a “hands off” approach and does not coach during the summer, so any coordination will need to be done between the players and the parents. Just know I am not endorsing either program, I am just passing along information.

Here’s the info:

SUMMER ULAX:
I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that we were recently confirmed to proceed with our 2nd Annual HS Girls Summer League at the Scheels Soccer Complex beginning in early June. We have opened registration and will be offering both a team fee and a team rebate option for programs entering a team in the league. If you opt for the team fee option, the cost to enter a team in the league will be $1,500 (25 player cap); if you opt for the team rebate option, the cost is $115/player and we will donate 10% of your players’ standard registration fees to your program. The fee includes 6-8 games per team, ULAX jersey, certified officials, certified trainer, photographs, playoff tourney for the top teams and more. We are also looking for a new manager to run the league so please let me know if you (or anyone you know) might be interested in this paid position.

Be sure to visit the league page for additional details. And, of course, do not hesitate to reach out to me directly with any questions.

KC ELEVATE LAX CLUB & LEAGUE:
It’s Kallie Muck, Head Coach with Blue Valley Titans. Hope your season is off to a great start! As you may have already heard, KC Blue Lions Lacrosse and KC Heartland have merged to form KC Elevate Lacrosse focusing on camps, clinics, programs, leagues, etc.
When I first moved back to Kansas City, I helped create an FCA Women’s Summer League for college players and adults. We had 40 women come out that first summer!! The following summer, I merged with ULAX and helped manage their girls/adult women’s leagues. I’ve helped ULAX with their girls and women’s summer leagues over the last two years. However, as the Girl’s Director for KC Elevate, I will be working on trying to bring our annual summer and winter league back to being run locally as opposed to letting an outside program run things here in Kansas City.

This summer, we will be hosting a summer league with divisions for Youth Girls (6-15 years old), High School Girls (14-19 years old) and Adults (18+)!

Girls can either register as individual players or with a team. Last summer with ULAX, I know high school teams had to provide their own coaches. With our league, if you have a group of girls who want to play but a coach from your team is unable to be there, we will be able to provide high level young women (all collegiate players) to step in and coach your girls!

The cost is $145 and includes:
5 week League | 3x pool play, 2x bracket play | (2) 24 minute halves
Certified Officials
Certified Trainer
Player Stat and Scorekeeping
League Reversible Included
You can find more information or register here: https://www.kcelevate.com/summer

If you could pass along this information to your current players as well as your alumni who may be interested in playing in our adult division, that would be awesome!! Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
