I received an email from the Athletic Director at Notre Dame de Sion asking if we can reschedule our game that was scheduled for tonight. Their reason was that a large number of her players were close friends with a young man from Rockhurst HS who was in a fatality car accident last Saturday night.

Her team is hurting, and want to attend the young man’s vigil tonight. I hope all of you can understand.

We are currently working on finding a date/time to reschedule tonight’s game.

We will practice tonight from 5-7pm.

Lady Titan LAX Family,
Week 3 of the 2019 season is here. We go into this week with 2-1 records for both the Varsity and the JV teams, with two games scheduled for this week.

Thank you to all those that traveled to St Louis last Friday and Saturday. We played some very good programs, and even though we did not win any of our games, I believe the experience we gained is extremely valuable.

We have 2 home games this week, so there is no travel scheduled. Here’s what we have coming up for this week:
Monday 8 APRIL – Outdoor practice at 5pm for the JV team. Film study for the Varsity team in Mr. Rasdall’s classroom. We will also have our Team Feeding at the Quincy Munsell Family home immediately following practice. I will text out the address later today.

Tuesday 9 APRIL – GAMEDAY!! We play a home game vs Notre Dame de Sion. JV Game at 5:30pm, Varsity at 7:00pm. Anyone wanting to volunteer to help with gameday preparations and breakdown, please be at the stadium by 4:45pm at the latest. We need help with setting up pylons and setting up Senior Banners. JD Warner is scheduled to run the clock and scoreboard. Hope MacKenzie will keep the scorebook at the table. (Thank you to all those who are helping). Invite your friends and family to come out and watch…the weather should be very good for lacrosse.

Wednesday 10 APRIL – Outdoor practice at 5pm. We will also have our Team Feeding at the Coach Brian/Ruthie Cox Family home immediately following practice. I will text out the address on Wednesday.

Thursday 11 APRIL – GAMEDAY!! We play our home game vs LS North. JV Game at 5:30pm, Varsity at 7:00pm. I would like to exact our revenge on this team as this was our only league loss for the season so far…Anyone wanting to volunteer to help with gameday preparations and breakdown, please be at the stadium by 4:45pm at the latest. We need help with setting up pylons and setting up Senior Banners.

This is design for our players to watch film of their past games and take those learning to improve their game. Varsity Team Players and Parents.

I just received an email from the coordinator for the STL tournament. They are making changes to their schedule so all games can be played on turf due to storms forecasted in the area for Thursday. That being said, here is the updated scheduled as of today:

Friday 5 APRIL (All games played at Lafayette HS):
5:30pm Lafayette v. St. Teresa’s Academy, KC
6:30pm Cor Jesu Academy v. Notre Dame de Sion, KC
7:30pm Parkway West v. Lee’s Summit West, KC
8:30pm LHS v. Shawnee Mission, KC

Saturday – split between two locales:

Parkway West High stadium/turf:
8:00am PW vs NDS
9:00am PW vs STA
10:30am CJA vs STA
11:30am PW vs SM

Lafayette stadium/turf:
8:00am CJA vs LSW

Although an 8am game on Saturday morning is not ideal, at least we are the only KC team that does not travel between locations and does not have to play back-to-back games, so we have that going for us.

Week 2 of the 2019 season is upon us. We had some really close games vs LS North this past week, one of them a double-overtime heart breaker. We will continue to build from each game and get better every day.

Thank you to all those that braved the elements last Saturday for the games vs our friends up north. I think playing those games really helped the players and coaching staff, and I am sure it can only help us moving forward. Also, thank you to those players who volunteered to help out LSHS. Getting that extra playing time can only help in their development.

This week starts our “2-games a week” schedule until the last week of the season, so we’ll be very busy. Here’s what we have coming up for this week:

Thursday 4 APRIL – League game vs Park Lacrosse. This is an away game. Their field does not have lights, so we will have to start earlier than we are used to. The address is below. I have also attached a map that shows you exactly where their game field is:

Expect a 45 min drive. I would like to have any parents willing to drive players to meet me in the LSW parking lot at 3:15pm and leave for Happy Rock at 3:30pm. That will get us there around 4:15pm for warmups. The weather forecast is currently at 80% chance of rain. Please be on the lookout for text messages just in case we have to postpone the game due to wet weather or wet fields.

St. Louis Play Date (Varsity Only) – 5 & 6 APRIL
We will submit the roster to the school, so all varsity players will be excused from school on Friday 5 APRIL. I would like all players to be on-site 1 hour before game time to get dressed, cleats on, and start warmups.

WELCOME BACK! I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break. Now that we are back to the grind, our league games start this week and we will have games on the schedule every week all the way through the week of 6 MAY…so it’s about to get really busy.

Here’s what we have coming up for this week:
Monday 25 March – Outdoor practice at 5pm.

Tuesday 26 March – Outdoor practice at 5pm. We will also have our first Team Feeding at the Ashley Shelton Family home immediately following practice. I will text out the address on Tuesday.

Wednesday 27 March – OUR FIRST GAME!!! We will be playing the LS North Broncos at the LSN Lacrosse stadium. JV game will be at 5:30pm, Varsity will be at 7:00pm. Please be at the field and ready by 4:45pm for warmups. Weather forecast is 70 deg and windy. I have attached a map to the stadium for those who have not attended a game there before.

Thursday 28 March – Practice. We will decide if indoor or outdoor as we get closer because there is rain in the forecast.

Friday 29 March: Omaha/Des Moines vs Lee’s Summit Play Date (Game will be played at LS West Lacrosse stadium) – All players (JV & Varsity) are asked to participate.
