LSW LAX BANQUET COMING UP - 17 MAY

Posted by Jay Hertzler at May 2, 2019 8:57AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Lady Titan LAX Family,

Our end of season banquet is quickly approaching. We will need everyone to complete and turn in the banquet flyer with payment by No Later Than 10 MAY. The best way to get this done is to have your daughter turn in the money and completed flyer to Mr. Rasdall’s office (Room 0184). I have attached the flyer for everyone.

Players and coaches eat for free. We need the flyers submitted as soon as possible so we can get a proper headcount so we can get enough food. I seen these girls eat, we need enough food for sure.

Lady Titan Family,

Well, our regular season is now over, and unfortunately, so is the season for our JV team. The JV team had a great season, especially for such a large group of first-year players. They worked extremely hard, and showed a great deal of potential for next season.

For our Varsity team, we will be entering the playoffs next week. When we play our first game will depend on what seed we will enter the tournament as. As of this morning, we are currently in 4th place, but Sion still has to play one more game, against St Teresa’s. If we assume STA will beat Sion, then it will come to a tie-breaker, which will most likely have us take over 3rd place…

Should we enter as 3rd place, we will most likely play Park in the 1st round of the playoffs. Should we advance, we would play the winner of the Blue Valley vs Shawnee Mission game in the Semifinal game.

Here’s the schedule and additional information:

Schedule:
Home (higher seed) wears light colors / Away (lower seed) wears dark colors:
Sunday, May 5 at Blue Valley North on 2 different fields so we would need at least 4 officials

· Monday, May 6 at Rockhurst University

Varsity game quarterfinal 1 — Seed 1 v 8 (West #2) — 5:30

Varsity game quarterfinal 2 — Seed 2 v 7 (West #1) — 7:30

· * Tuesday, May 7 at Rockhurst University*

Varsity quarterfinal 3 — Seed 3 v 6 — 5:30

Varsity quarterfinal 4 — Seed 4 v 5 — 7:30

· Wednesday, May 8 at Rockhurst Univ

Varsity semifinal game 1 — winner quarterfinal 1 vs winner quarterfinal 4 — 5:30

Varsity semifinal game 2 — winner quarterfinal 2 vs winner quarterfinal 3 — 7:30

· Thursday, May 9 at Rockhurst Univ

JV final game — 5:30

Recognition of All-Metro team (between games)

Varsity final game — 7:30

· Rockhurst University, Bourke Field (turf), 1100 Rockhurst Road, Kansas City, MO 64110

Other logistics:

Gate fee:
$5 for each adult per night … college coaches, high school students and children free. The gate fee is to help offset the cost of field rental. Please let your parents know to expect the gate fee.

Spectators:
At Rockhurst, all spectators will be required to be in the stands on the East side of the field. No non-participants are allowed in or around the driveway area on the West side of the field. In past years, we had a challenge with spectators sitting behind the benches. Please emphasize that the West side is for players and coaches only.
If your team’s fans are sitting on the West side, you will be asked to request they move to to spectator seating.
Each team is responsible for the behavior of its spectators. Verbal abuse of officials, players or coaches will not be allowed. Please remind your teams and spectators that good sportsmanship is required.

Scorer’s table:
Each team is responsible for keeping its own scorebook. The highest seeds’ scorebook will be considered the official scorebook. Disputes will be settled by the league-provided field manager or ranking board member.
Each team can have two people at the scorer’s table (one to keep the book and one to spot). No coaching from the scorer’s table please.

Concession stand:
No concession stand is planned. Outside food is allowed into the stadium.

Trainer:
A trainer will be provided by the league at no cost to the participating teams.

Sponsors:
Sponsorship opportunities to support growth of lacrosse in our region. If your company, club or college would be interested in participating as a sponsor, benefits include: banners in the stadium (provided by sponsor), table or booth inside the stadium (provided by sponsor), ability to share promotional item with all teams (water bottle, t-shirt, key chain, etc), announcements over PA during each game, welcome announcement over PA by sponsor’s rep before each game, visibility on KCMGLA’s website and social media. Suggested donation level $500. Please contact briancox2468@gmail.com or lsngirlslax@outlook.com with questions.

Weather:
The games will be played in rain. 30 minute delay for lightning. All efforts will be made to play the games as scheduled. As a last resort, organizers may move game times and days as required by weather or unforeseen circumstances.
The schedule was developed with an eye toward avoiding major schedule conflicts for teams. However, if a team is unable to play a scheduled game, the losing team from its previous game will advance in the bracket. For instance, if Team A defeats Team B in round one, but Team A is unable to field a team for round two, Team B will advance to round two. If one of the top 6 seeds is unable to play its first game, the seventh place team in the standings will be invited to play in the tournament.

Volunteer opportunities … free admission for volunteers if they are scheduled in advance:

Admission gate … need 2-3 people per night to work the gate to collect gate fees at Rockhurst. League to provide table, but bring your own chairs.
If you have volunteers, please send names, what they volunteer for, email addresses, and available days to briancox2468@gmail.com or lsngirlslax@outlook.com. The goal is to have volunteers work for at least one night (two games) instead of game-by-game if possible.

I hope this helps. The JV players are more than welcome to come out and support their teammates next week. We would love to see them out there!

Lady Titan Family,

Tomorrow during normal practice time, we will have Brock from Pec-Sports taking individual and team photos. Below is the web link where you can order prints from Brock after the pics are taken. I expect them to be uploaded by Friday.

We will meet at 5pm at the practice fields. Brock usually sets up his equipment by the blue sheds. He’ll be ready by 4:45pm if you want to get your individual pics taken early.

Lady Titan LAX Family,

The final week of the 2019 regular season is upon us. We go into this week with 5-3 records the Varsity and 4-4 for the JV team, with our final two regular season games scheduled for this week. As we get closer to the end of the season, we are starting to see how the playoffs are going to shake out. As it stands today, our JV team does not look like they will make the playoffs this year. This does not mean we did not have a great season, because we did. I am proud of how our JV team developed over the course of this season. Our Varsity team is currently in 2nd place behind St. Teresa’s going into these last 2 games. Our Varsity team is guaranteed a playoff spot, we just need to know what seed we will be in to start the playoffs.

We have 2 games this week, both away games on turf, so unless there is lightning, we can expect to play, rain or shine.

Here’s what we have coming up for this week:
Monday 29 APRILGAMEDAY!! Today we will play Sion at Notre Dame de Sion school (106th & Wornall Rd) We will play our Varsity game first at 4:30pm, then JV at 6:00pm. Please be at the field by 3:30pm to start getting warmed up. Sion likes to charge a gate fee, so please have $5 cash on hand with you for every person coming to watch the game.

Tuesday 30 APRIL – Indoor practice at 5pm, then our final Team Feeding of the season at the Maj. Dean Rasdall/Carleigh Belz home. I will send out the address on Tuesday.

Wednesday 1 MAYGAMEDAY!! This will be our final game of the regular season. We will play St. Teresa’s Academy at STA (55th & Main St) We will play our Varsity game first at 4:30pm, then JV at 6:00pm. Please be at the field by 3:30pm to start getting warmed up. STA has asked that we park at their southern parking lot (please see attached map) as they have other activities going on at the same time. STA likes to charge a gate fee, so please have $5 cash on hand with you for every person coming to watch the game.

Thursday 2 MAY – Team Pictures. Please meet at the outdoor practice fields in your game uniforms at 5pm.
Now, some other housekeeping items.

I want to take this time to remind everyone of our LSR7 Transportation Policy. The policy states that our players CANNOT drive each other to away games outside of the LSMO city limits, unless a parent is behind the wheel. A parent packing their SUV or van with multiple players and taking them to the game is GOOD, a player packing her car with her teammates and driving to the game is BAD. Please make every effort to comply with this policy. Failure to comply with this policy may put our school in a position to shut down our club. This policy is for player safety, and is a district policy, not a LSW LAX Club policy. If anyone needs a ride, please contact your team captains or a coach so we can help secure a ride for you.

Our End of Season LAX Banquet is scheduled for 17 MAY at 6pm. Attached is the RSVP form that we will need completed and turned into Maj. Rasdall with your payment by 10 MAY. Players and coaches eat for free. We could also use 4-6 additional volunteers to help with setup, breakdown and Audio/Visual. If you are willing to help, please reach out to Honey Hayes at Honey.Hayes@lsr7.net and let her know you are able to help.

That’s it for now…please let me know if you have any questions. Let’s have a great week. This is the last week of the regular season, then we go into the playoffs. Let’s finish strong.
