Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

It’s SuperBowl Week!!! I don’t know about you, but I am getting really excited about this Sunday…I have a lot of information to share, so let’s get right to it:

- SUNDAY 2 FEB : THERE IS NO INDOOR PRACTICE AT LAKELAND. WE SHOULD ALL BE CHEERING ON THE CHIEFS!

Here is some additional important information for everyone, so please mark your calendars:
- MONDAY 24 FEB: LSW LAX Fundraiser at Martin City Pizza and Taproom (354 SW Blue Pkwy, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063). Any purchases after 4pm will have 10% go to the LSW LAX Club. They are also reserving an area just for us…makes plans to go eat some pizza and support our club!

- SATURDAY 29 FEB: Team Lock-in at LSW’s Aux Gym. This event will be for the team to spend the night at LSW, have fun, play games and activities and get to know each other. We are still working out the details, but we will most likely go from 8pm until 9am the next morning. Any parents interested in helping out (crowd control, coordinating food, drinks, etc…) please reach out to me at 816-977-5707. I am in need of some moms to help as only the male coaches are able to attend (Coach Casie has a prior commitment).

I know there are a lot of first-year parents who have yet to fully experience a season with us, so I wanted to share some basic information to help all of you with what’s coming up.

Starting on 2 MARCH, the lacrosse season will “officially” start, and we will move to full practices at LSW. Our designated practice field is directly behind the tennis courts at LSW unless we are forced to go indoors due to inclement weather, then we will practice at the LSW AUX gym. Practices will ALWAYS be from 5pm-7pm on Monday – Thursday (No Friday practices). The only change will be if we run out of daylight while outdoors until daylight savings time has us move our clocks forward.

Monday 2 March – Thursday 5 March : Varsity tryouts. Varsity Roster will be announced at the end of practice on 5 March.

Thursday 5 March at 7pm – Mandatory Parent Meeting: I will secure a room at LSW and let you know when I get one. I would like for parents to make every effort to attend this meeting. This will be where you can meet the coaching staff, hear our expectations for the team, expectations for parents, hear my plea for a few volunteers, you can sign up to host a team feeding, etc. Plus you can meet your fellow lax parents. If there’s enough interest, I’ll be happy to host a quick 30 min Lacrosse 101 course to those who don’t know the game.

Our games will start the week after Spring Break. The games will be scheduled during a weeknight (Mon-Fri), and we will have 5 home and 5 away. Games at stadiums with lights will usually start with a 5:30pm JV game and 7pm Varsity. Stadiums without lights (i.e. Sion, St. Teresa’s) will have a 4:30pm Varsity, 6pm JV. Our coaching staff asks for all of our players to be there for both games. Players will be in the bench area and will cheer for their teammates when they are not playing.

I have committed our team to 2 out-of-town tournaments this year. One for the Varsity, and one for the JV

Friday 27 MARCH – Saturday 28 MARCH – Our Varsity team will be going to Omaha to play 3 NE-IA teams. We will play 1 game Friday evening, and 2 games on Saturday. We will supply the Varsity roster to the LSW front office so each player can get an excused absence for that Friday so you can make the trip. As soon as I get more details, I’ll share the hotel info and game location info with the Varsity Parents. Transportation will be on each Varsity player and parent to coordinate.

Saturday 4 APRIL – Our JV team will be playing in a tournament in Columbia, MO. This will be a day-trip, so we can plan on leaving early Saturday morning, making the drive, play our games, and then go to Shakespeare’s Pizza to eat before we all go home.

I know I just shared a great deal of information, but I wanted to get it out there so everyone can start marking their calendars. If you have any questions, or are willing to volunteer for the lock-in, please reach out to me.

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

First and foremost, let me just say “Wow” on yesterday’s big Chief’s win. Not being a KC native, I really haven’t felt the heartbreak over the decades like most of you have. I am truly excited to watch them play in the Superbowl on 2 FEB.

Here’s what’s on tap for this week:

- Sunday 26 JAN : Indoor session at Lakeland from 5pm – 7pm. This will be number 4 of 8 sessions for this winter. We had a great turnout yesterday, and the girls are getting better every time. Let’s keep up the hard work!

NOTE: WE WILL NOT HAVE INDOOR PRACTICE ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!

Here are some housekeeping items:
- Spiritwear pick-up : The spiritwear order from last month has been delivered to Mrs. Boulden’s room (Rm 2178). This is for spiritwear only, not Boathouse jackets. Boathouse jackets are expected to arrive anytime now, so once they are here, we’ll get them out to everyone.

- Sports Physicals : if you have not confirmed if your sports physical is current or not, please do so as soon as you can. I do not want to be in a position where I have to turn players away on the first day of practice at LSW on 2 MARCH because they do not have a sports physical on file.

- Any Outstanding Fees : If you still have any outstanding payments you need to pay to the lacrosse club (i.e. for indoor practices), please take care of this by delivering your payment directly to Mrs. Boulden at Rm 2178.

I have heard a rumor that the jackets should be arriving any day now, so I’ll make sure to let everyone know when they come in and are ready for pickup.

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone has recovered from yesterday’s phenomenal comeback Chief’s victory. We had a wonderful turnout last night at indoor…our players are working hard and are getting better every time they step on the field.

Here’s what is going on for this week:

Sunday 19 JAN from 5-7pm – I know we have the AFC Championship game…kickoff is at 2:05pm, so the game should be over around 5:00-5:30. Just like yesterday, we will have someone from the coaching staff at Lakeland by 5pm for anyone who arrives there by 5. I know this may cause an issue with finishing the Chief’s game, but we have already rented the field, so as a steward of everyone’s money who paid for these indoor sessions, I need to use the field. I hope everyone can understand… we will have practice as scheduled.

I will tell you that I will cancel practice for Superbowl Sunday regardless of which teams are playing…and because I am cancelling that Sunday, I want to make sure I don’t have any other cancellations.
