Happy Monday Lady Titan Lacrosse Family,

The official start of the Spring lacrosse season is upon us, and it looks like we are going to get some good weather this week! I am excited to get things started, and I promise you this is going to be a wild ride.

We had 39 of 49 girls at the lock-in last Saturday night. I want to personally thank the parents that helped us as well. I think the players had an awesome time. I will say that I am surprised that they all went to sleep as early as they did. We had one player who almost made it, but finally took a cat-nap around 5am. I hope all the players had an opportunity to get some rest yesterday, because today we get to work.

Here’s what is coming up:

IMPORTANT – For just this week of practices (Mon-Thurs), we will start at 4:30pm at our practice field right behind the LSW Tennis Courts. This is because we will be running out of daylight not long after 6pm, and we want to get as much time on the field as possible before it gets dark. If you are picking up your daughter from practice, I would recommend you arrive at around sunset. Please do NOT drive down the road behind the gate…you can wait at the curb or in the parking lot across from the tennis court.

MONDAY 2 March – THURSDAY 5 March: Varsity tryouts. Varsity Roster will be announced at the end of practice on 5 March. Please dress in layers to make sure you are properly dressed for the temps. All players must wear their practice pinneys to every practice. Also, please bring a pair of running shoes to every practice in case we run on concrete or the LSW track as part of conditioning.

RESCHEDULED MONDAY 9 March at 7pm – Thanks to LSW for scheduling the Junior/Senior Parent Night on the same date as our parent meeting, I have rescheduled our Mandatory Parent Meeting: I have secured Mrs. Boulden’s room (Rm. 2178) at LSW. I would like for parents to make every effort to attend this meeting. This will be where you can meet the coaching staff, hear our expectations for the team, expectations for parents, hear my plea for a few volunteers, you can sign up to host a team feeding, etc. Plus, you can meet your fellow lax parents. If there’s enough interest, I’ll be happy to host a quick 30 min Lacrosse 101 course to those who don’t know the game.

Happy Monday Lady Titan LAX Family,

I wanted to pass along some additional details about this Saturday’s lock-in. Here is a quick list of items that I suggest you bring with you:

- Your lax equipment
- Change of clothes in case it gets cold overnight (i.e. long pants, long sleeves)
- Phone Charger
- Pillow/blanket
- Any meds you may need
- Any hygiene products you may need.

Also, we plan on taking pictures for this year’s program and for the Senior Banners.

If you are a Senior: Bring your entire uniform for Senior pics
If Junior – Freshman: Bring your uniform top (if you have one). If you are a new player, we will have a spare one to use.

If you are not going to be at the lock-in, we will look to schedule a make-up date for the pictures.

Can’t wait until Saturday. We will open the doors at 8pm Saturday night.

We have had some changes to our schedule for upcoming events, so please make note.

Here’s the list:

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT – IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED YOUR SPORTS PHYSICAL AND UPLOADED IT INTO THE PRIVT WEBSITE, PLEASE DO SO ASAP. If you have already uploaded a physical form into the PRIVT website for another sport (i.e. volleyball), please log back in and choose “Girl’s Club Lacrosse” as a Joined Team so you show up on our team’ report.

TONIGHT!!! MONDAY 24 FEB: LSW LAX Fundraiser at Martin City Pizza and Taproom (354 SW Blue Pkwy, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063). Any purchases after 4pm will have 10% go to the LSW LAX Club. They are also reserving an area just for us…makes plans to go eat some pizza and support our club! And spread the word to your friends, family, neighbors, etc…Facebook is usually a great way to get that word out.

SATURDAY 29 FEB: Team Lock-in at LSW’s Aux Gym. This event will be for the team to spend the night at LSW, have fun, play games and activities and get to know each other. We will start at 8pm until 9am the next morning. Please arrive at the Aux Gym door facing the parking lot for check-in. Please note that once the girls are checked in, they will NOT be allowed to leave the facility until 9am Sunday unless a parent comes and escorts them out. A phone call or a text will NOT work. I hope you understand that we take our responsibility seriously, and we know you will be trusting us for the care of your daughters, so this will be non-negotiable. We will be serving pizza and drinks (water, Gatorade). I suggest you bring the following items with you:

Lady Titan LAX Family,

Sorry for such short notice, but as part of us keeping track of concussions in our sport and on our team, the LSW LAX Board has scheduled concussion baseline testing for all players free of charge.

Please make every effort to attend this baseline testing. Here are the details:

- When: Monday 24 FEB
- Time: 2:30pm (right after school)
- Where: Mrs Boulden’s Room (Rm. 2178)

It should take about 10-15 minutes.
