Hello Lady Titan LAX Family.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. Now that we are back to the grind, I just wanted to give you an update on ULAX for this week, and what games are on the schedule.

First, here’s what is on the schedule as of this morning:

TUESDAY 7 JULY
6:00pm Mesh Addicts vs LSN/BV Titans JV = Heritage Park Field #1
ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING TO PLAY. DETAILS BELOW
Acceptable face coverings are: bandana, surgical mask, gator pullup, cloth homemade mask, any fabric that will cover the nose and mouth that will stay on the face while the player is running.

That’s it. Goal Diggers do not have a game on the schedule this week.

Second, the Governor of Kansas has mandated that everyone wear masks, so the players must wear a face covering, and any spectators on the sideline are required to wear one unless you can be at least 6 ft away from the next person. Here are the details:

GOVERNOR’S ORDER MANDATING FACE COVERINGS
As you know, Governor Kelly recently issued an order mandating face coverings in public. The order includes an exemption for sports activities where social distancing IS possible. Rather than modifying the rules of the game by requiring social distancing at all times (e.g., eliminating contact, draws etc.), we will now be requiring everyone to wear a face covering when maintaining six feet of social distance IS NOT possible. So, for example, you will not be required to wear a face covering when the ball is on the other side of the field or when you are on the sidelines (as long as you can maintain six feet of distance from the next person); however, you will be required to wear one when you are part of the action (e.g., taking draws, actively playing offense/defense etc.). We realize this isn’t ideal but it allows us to safely continue to play the game we love without modifying the rules.

So, as you can see, the league is trying to find the best way to still allow the girls to play the game while following the rules for COVID.

NOW, the important part…I need to know from everyone whether this is acceptable from a parent’s and player’s point of view. I know this league has not been ideal, and ULAX recognizes that the constant changes are frustrating everyone, but they are working in reactionary mode every time a new mandate comes out.

Here’s what I am requesting. Please have every player who is participating in ULAX text their position coaches whether or not they will continue to play ULAX wearing a face covering, or wish to quit playing in the league. One thing I CANNOT guarantee are refunds, as that will be up to ULAX. What I am trying to do is determine if I am going to have enough players who are still willing to play to form a team, or if I’ll have to forfeit games.

I know you are getting frustrated, and believe me, so am I. ULAX just reached out to me because KC Yellow just told them that they are not available to play us tomorrow evening…so we are back to our original schedule (so, a change to the change means there’s no change, right??)

SO….Here’s are final schedule for tomorrow (which was the original schedule):

6pm: Mesh Addicts vs. St. Thomas Aquinas (Field 4)
7pm: KC Yellow vs. Goal Diggers (Field 2)

Let me be the first to apologize for all of the emails, and all of the changes. I cannot thank you enough for your patience and flexibility…

For Next week, the Mesh Addicts will have games on the 7th and 9th per the ULAX schedule online (and as we know, that may be subject to change). Goal Diggers only have one game on 9 JULY.

OK Everyone,

I have a quick update for everyone. Our JV Team has been asked to play a double-header tomorrow evening because the SM Girls can’t make their game vs KC Yellow tomorrow, so we are going to try to play the game vs KC Yellow tomorrow instead of next week. Since we have to drive almost an hour to get to the park, I agreed to do it to save an extra trip for next week (we were scheduled to play 2 games next week on 2 different nights).

So, here’s the schedule for tomorrow night:

THURSDAY 2 JULY at Heritage Park in OIathe
6pm: Mesh Addicts vs. St. Thomas Aquinas (Field 4)
7pm: Mesh Addicts vs KC Yellow JV

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

What a first week of lacrosse for the ULAX players. We had good weather for our first games last week. Our varsity squad tied the Blue Valley team (9-9) , and our JV won against the combined LSN/BV team (9-5). We looked good, and we played hard. Our players made the coaching staff proud.

As for this week, I have already received communication from ULAX on a scheduling change. I will remind everyone that these changes will probably be the norm as we try to play in a league during the COVID pandemic. The good news is that ULAX is communicating on a regular basis. I appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility when it comes to the scheduling changes.

So, having said that…here’s this week’s schedule:

- No game today (MONDAY)…today’s game will be rescheduled.

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I would like to apologize for all of the changes and updates that are happening during this summer ULAX league. I know this may be getting very frustrating, so I appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we try to play lacrosse during the COVID pandemic.

Both the Varsity and JV teams have games tomorrow evening, and both are scheduled to play. Here’s the schedule:

Goal Diggers (Varsity) @ 6pm vs Blue Valley
Mesh Addicts (JV) @ 7pm vs LSN/BV

Now, here’s the important part: For Thursday’s games only, the games will be played at the Heritage Soccer Complex in Olathe. Here’s the address:

17225 S Lackman Rd, Olathe, KS 66062

Google Maps estimates this drive to be about 40-45 mins…so please take that into account. Also, I have no idea if there are any bleachers to sit on, so I suggest bringing lawn chairs if you plan on sitting. The updated schedule does not list a field number, so you’ll have to look for the lacrosse goals once you get to the complex to get an idea of where the fields will be. I have attached the field map for the soccer fields so you can see where they are at.
