Playing in temperatures that resembled a day in March, the Tigers of Tolman outlasted the weather and poor field conditions in a come from behind victory over the Wizards, 7-3.

 

In a cold and rainy afternoon, the Wizards and Sentinels were forced to suspend play in the top of the eighth inning tied at 7-7.  

For the 12th consecutive year, West Warwick Head Coach Richard Grenier and his Wizards coaching staff (Richard Grenier Jr. and John Mottola) hosted the Boys' Local Competition of the Scotts' MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Contest. Current Wizard players who volunteered and assisted during the event were Chris Gaipo, Charlie Tashjian and former 11-year-old State Champion (2009) and 8-time Local Champion (2005-2012), Matthew Grenier.

Pitch, Hit and Run is the officials skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball//softball skills. The boys were divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion of the Local Competition will now participate in the Sectional Level of Competition which will be held on May 21st at McCoy Stadium. This year's winners include: Jack Proulx (All Around Champion - 7/8), Karl Swanson (Pitching and All Around Champion - 9/10), James Proulx (Hitting and Running Champion - 9/10), Kyle Curran (Hitting and All Around Champion - 11/12), Adam Marsh (Pitching Champion - 11/12), Kaidyn Mitchell (Running Champion - 11/12), Michael Grenier (Running Champion - 11/12) and Colby Knott (All Around Champion - 13/14).

Wizards and Mounties eclipse $2,000 mark!

In their fourth annual ALS Awareness game, the Wizards of West Warwick and the Mounties of Mt. St. Charles raised $620 to bring their four-year total over $2,000!
