Baseball State finals come to a close...
Major Baseball State Finalists - Westfield North, Middleboro, Parkway National, Peabody Western.  Tournament in Worcester (Joe Schwartz LL)Friday through Monday July 25-28. 
Parkway National edges Middleboro in the State final. 

11 year old State finals wrap between Pittsfield South, South Plymouth, Everett, Billerica American.  Semi-finals held on Friday, July 25th with the Final in Worcester on Sunday July 27th. 
Everett takes State title with a win over Pittsfield South.

Juniors (14) & Seniors (16) State finals finished up in Easthampton (Booster field).
Canton takes 2 of 3 against Gloucester for the Juniors State final. 
Gloucester took 2 straight from Auburn for the Seniors State final.

Softball State Finals wrap up in Worcetser...
Swampscott edged out Jesse Burkettt for the State title in the Major Softball division.
Winchendon took two straight games from Wakefield to caputre the State title in the Junior division.
Salem defeated Winchendon Sunday for the State title in the Senior division. 
All three teams will repesent Massachusetts in the respective East Regionals.

Congratulations to all teams partipating this year and to Worcester Jesse Burkett for hosting another terrific tournament!

Al & al Manger/Coach clinic coming back to Mass...
There is no doubt you have all heard of the famous Little League clinic instruction team of Al and al. Once again, due to popular demand, the Al & al clinic has been scheduled to the Massachusetts area and will be hosted this year by the District 15 and Beverly Little league. Clinic will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the Danvers High School Field House.

2007 was a FANTASTIC year for Little League Jimmy Fund program...
We would like to thank all of you for your efforts this year in the Jimmy Fund Little League program. The goals of this program continue to be met, by giving Little Leaguers the opportunity to play more baseball/softball and at the same time, raise money for children with cancer. The program had an amazing year raising a record $370,000.

State Finals wrap up...
10-11 : Sandwich takes deciding game against Pittsfield South with a 7-2 win capturing the 10-11 State title.
Majors : Walpole American takes the State champioship ending Peabody West's quest for back-to-back state titles.
Juniors : Somerset takes the deciding game against Stoneham 12-2 for the State title.
Seniors : Auburn takes back-to-back games against Gloucester with a 6-4 win Saturday and a 12-2 win on Sunday for the State title.

State Finals for all Softball divisions wrapped up this weekend in Worcester...
Lynn Wyoma edged out Jesse Burkett of Worcester for the Majors title.
Wakefield and Dudley took straight games from Westfield and Winchendon to capture their respective Junior and Senior state titles.

Massachusetts to host East Regional Senior Softball Tournament
For the first time since 1964, Massachusetts will host an East Regional Tournament. The 2007 Senior League Softball East Region Tournament has a new home - Worcester, Massachusetts. The Senior League Softball East Regional Tournament was previously played and hosted the past two years in Easton, Maryland. However, after long consideration, Maryland District said that they would no longer be willing or able to host such a high level and profile tournament. Multiple proposals were submitted by the states of Connecticut and Maryland along with proposals from New Jersey and Massachusetts. After long review and consideration, the tournament was awarded to Massachusetts District 4 and the Jesse Burkett Little League. All of the proposals were very detailed, excellently thought out and would have been very successful in any location. However, with the committment from the Massachusetts District 4 Administrator, District Staff, Jesse Burkett Little League, the City of Worcester, the Massachusetts State of District Administrator Association and the Massachusetts State Government, Worcester was the exceptional location for the 2007 East Region Senior League Softball Tournament.
Congratulations are extended to Doug Hannam, Mass District 4 Administrator and all of the individuals who have made this possible and Worcester the new home of the 2007 Senior League Softball East Region Tournament. Massachusetts and the East Region look ahead to a very bright future and many years for the progress, growth and development of this particular tournament within the City of Worcester along with an even stronger partnership with Little League Baseball and Softball.

Al & al Manger/Coach clinic is a big hit...
With an attendance of 400 managers and coaches, Al Price of Al and al Baseball delivered a terrific day of instruction.
There is no doubt you have all heard of the famous Little League clinic instruction team of Al and al. Once again, due to popular demand, the Al & al clinic has been scheduled to the Massachusetts area and will be hosted this year by the District 13. Clinic will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Joyce Middle School Gym. The individual leagues that participate can send as many managers and coaches as want to come, for an all-inclusive fee. The secret to the success of the Al & al clinics has always been the hands on instruction from the experience of attending as well as learning from the training material they offer for the leagues. Please review the enclosed information and have the individual leagues send their orders directly to Al & al prior to the clinic so that the participants can use the booklets during the clinic for reference and taking notes.

George Berardi Honored for More Than 50 Years of Service
The Little League District Administrators of Massachusetts honored one of their own this year in the by naming the Massachusetts State Little League Baseball Tournament after George Berardi, whose service to Little League spans more than five decades. more...

Congratulations to the 2003 New England Champions from Saugus Saugus American Little League All-Stars had a terrific run in the tournament with an exciting week in Williamsport including an extra inning 14-13 victory vs. Texas to advance to US Final against Florida.
2003 Baseball State Finals Tournaments completed Congratulations to Saugus American, Mansfield & Hanson on capturing the State title with wins in the Major, Junior & Senior divisions respectively.
2003 Softball Tournaments concluded in Winchendon with State finals Congratulations to Gardner, Jesse Burkett (Worcester) & Malden East capturing the State title with wins in the Major, Junior & Senior divisions respectively. See Tournaments section at left for brackets and results.
John Caron selected as World Series Umpire John Caron from Winchendon carried his 23 years of umpiring to the 2002 World Series.
2002 New England Champions from Worcester Jesse Burkett Little League All-Stars advanced to US Final, the furthest point where any Massachusetts team has previously advanced to.

Baseball divisions 2005 State tournaments wrapped up... Gloucester defaeats Methuen East for State Senior title. Seekonk edged out Auburn for the Junior baseball title. Dudley defeats Danvers American in the Major State final. Barnstable National defeated Everett for the State 11 year old title.
Softball divisions complete 2005 State Finals in Worcester... Jesse Burkett Little League of Worcester hosted the 2005 State Finals for the Major, Junior & Senior levels. Each of the three levels were decided in 2 games each. Swampscott defeated Westfield for the State Major title. Jesse Burkett defeated Westfield for the Junior title. Westfield Seniors defeated Wakefield to capture their State title.

League Administration Clinic - April 3, 2005 League Administartion clinic coming to Massachusetts. The Clinic will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at Boston College. All League Officers and Board board members are encouraged to attend and hear the hometown presentation first hand. With nearly 7,000 leagues nationwide, it would be impossible for Little League’s professional staff members to conduct league administration, umpire and coaches clinics for each. Nonetheless, our top staff members and volunteers have teamed up to bring truckloads of tips to your backyard. Consider it a live version of the publication "A Year In the Life of Hometown Little League!"
