J. Sandy Jones, Commissioner/CEO commented, “ We had a mix of low-scoring games and some real slugfests as teams needed to score ten or more runs to escape with a victory. Congratulations to Central-Clemson, SC on finding the path to winning the championship in a highly-competitive tournament. The team from Central-Clemson earned the title against the eleven other teams in the Junior Boys division. The Junior Boys World Series was dedicated to Ronnie Gandy. A moment of silence was held at the Opening Ceremony as we remembered Ronnie and his service to our organization as our Junior Boys Deputy Commissioner. Ronnie’s passing has left a void in our organization and our directors all worked together to make the event a success. The Opening Ceremony held at Warhawk Field on the campus of the University of Louisiana – Monroe was made possible through the assistance of Dr. Ronald Berry, University President and ULM Head Baseball Coach, Mike Federico. We thank ULM for their support of our DBB organization. Discover Monroe – West Monroe was tasked with the planning of all events held at ULM and their work is greatly appreciated. Mike Bader, LSPN owner, and the Sterlington Sports Complex provided live streaming of all games of the 2022 Jr. Boys World Series. Thanks to everyone supporting this event.”
