The charity for this year's All-Star Game and for Softball Weekend is Girls Helping Girls. Period.
Girls Helping Girls. Period. or GHGP is a family run charity based in South Orange and was founded by the Joy family who are very involved in MSO Softball. GHGP provides a year's supply of feminine hygiene products to each girl or woman it helps.
The products, which are not covered by food stamps or other social programs, can be very expensive, and GHGP's mission is to relieve families of the burden for a whole year, so that their clients can focus on more important matters like staying at school and work. In their first year, GHGP has helped more than 350 girls with a full year's supply of tampons and pads. All of the recipients are in Maplewood/South Orange and surrounding towns. On Softball Weekend we invite you to please drop off donations of feminine hygiene products (new boxes only please) in the collection bin at the check-in tent.
