9-10 BB comeback falls short, lose 9-8 - another chance at championship Tuesday at 6pm

The MI 9-10 All-stars scored 3 in the top of the 1st against the All-stars from Eastlake LL, but ferocious Eastlake hitting and porous MI fielding led to a 9-3 deficit at the end of the first.  MI kept battling however, scoring once each in the 2nd, 4th and 5th innings to chip away at the Eastlake lead behind a strong 75-pitch performance on the mound by reliever Luke Boksem.  Noah Hsue releived in the 5th and also held ELL scoreless.  A clutch 1st pitch, bases-loaded single by Johnny van der Velden with 2 out in the 6th got MI within 1, and the tying run to 3rd on a wild pitch, but a foul tip into the catcher's glove ended the Islanders' threat, forcing a 2nd championship game between the same two teams Tuesday night at 6pm at Hartman Park in Redmond.
