The 2009 Spring MILL season is quickly approaching. Registration will begin shortly after the new year. Further information is provided on our league web site. Please note the following registration dates:
Saturday, January 3rd, South Field, 10 AM-1 PM
Tuesday, January 6th, South Field, 6 PM-8 PM
Saturday, January 10th, South Field, 10 AM-1 PM
Thursday, January 15th, South Field, 6 PM-8 PM
Tryouts/Late registration will be Saturday, January 17th, South Field, beginning at 10 AM. Further details will be provided at registration.
MILL managers will be tentatively drafting teams on Friday, January 23 (Majors) and Sunday, January 25th (M1, M2, T-Ball). Managers must attend the MILL Tryouts and League Draft. Specifics will be distributed once managers are selected, and approved by the MILL Board of Directors.
If you are interested in managing a MILL baseball team this spring, please contact me via email or phone. Please forward your request by January 10th if you would like consideration. Please include your intended division of play.
Those selected to manage MILL teams will be expected to fulfill specific obligations for the league. At a minimum, managers will be required to: Attend manager's meetings, coaching clinics, safety/first aid clinics, adhere to MILL Local Rules, Inter-League Rules, and Official Little League Rules outlined in the "Green Book." Rule books will be provided to all managers. Our league local rules can be reviewed on our league web site. Further minor responsibilities will be outlined at a designated meeting.
All MILL managers will be scheduled to umpire games throughout the season. Mel Lang, Chief Umpire, will draft a schedule for the season. Please understand, no exceptions will be granted. Managers will assume responsibility for their assignments. Coaches may represent your team once scheduled to umpire games throughout the season. We will have an umpiring clinic prior to our manager's meeting in February.
