Wickford1 and Wickford2 meet in the 10/11A division playoff
Wickford 2(Jitter's Cafe) and Wickford 1(Urology Associates) both 10/11A division teams met in the losers bracket round Saturday afternoon at Wilson Park.
Jake Brogno got things started in the 2nd inning for Wickford 1 by launching a line drive home run way over the right field fence to put Wickford 1 ahead 1-0 after the 2nd inning.
Wickford 2 kept the pressure on however having 2 runners thrown out at the plate after passed balls shut down Wickford 2. Tyler Carter behind the plate and Brian Farrell on the mound teamed up to throw out a total of 3 Wickford 2 runners trying to advance home on passed balls.
Wickford 1 rallied in the 3rd on hits by Cam Lamarre, Bruce Copolla, Lucas Deslaures and a walk to Andrew Sarazen.
Wickford 2 answered in the bottom of the 3rd with 3 runs on 5 walks and a Wickford 1 error. Wickford 2 would score 4 more in the 4th on key hits by Nathan Matthews and Dean Streich who each had 2 rbi's in the 4th.
Wickford 1 rallied one more time in the 6th on a bases loaded single by Brian Farrell who was tagged out trying to go to second. Final score 7-5, a great game by 2 talented Wickford teams.
Wickford 2 plays in the 10/11A losers bracket final against South Kingstown on Thursday 10/22 6pm at Wilson Park.
