5/11/13 - Reds 7, A's 0

Four runs in the second clinched the win for Reds over the A’s.  Daniel Williams gave up only one hit, allowed no earned runs, struck out three, and walked none in three innings.  A’s Logan Temple got on base twice as well as Alex Cianca but were not able to make it home. 

Reds added three more runs in the top of the third. A single by Rowan Dupras ignited the offense, scoring Gavin Kennedy.  Mason Stinson had a productive day going 2 for 3.  All around hitting efforts by Benjamin Davis, Jon Gottschalk, Dominic Ventimiglia, and a double by Ian Lacy helped keep the Reds on top.

Minor A

5/11/13 – Red Wings 5, Bats 4  

Alec Muirhead singled in Matt Hernandez with the winning run in the top of the sixth as the Red Wings won for the second time in as many days to close the regular season.

The Red Wings built a 3-0 lead in the first, with a two-run double from Aiden Daniels the key blow. The Bats drew even with three runs of their own in the second as Jake D'Amico doubled in a pair of runs.  Daniel Kotkosky earned the victory with three innings of no-hit relief. He struck out seven, including the last five batters he faced. The Red Wings (4-6, 7-11) earned the number 7 seed for the Minor A Post-Season Tournament and will open up tournament action on Friday. 5/10/13 – Red Wings 5, Bulls 1

Nick Dagarin of the Red Wings and Chris Soto of the Bulls engaged in a pitchers duel that wasn't decided until the final inning.  Dagarin allowed just one hit and an unearned run over 5 2/3 innings and struck out seven. His Bulls counterpart Soto conceded just two hits over 4 2/3 and fanned 10. The Red Wings tallied an unearned run in the first, and that was the only score of the game until the Wings added four insurance runs against a pair of Bulls relievers in the sixth.  Jeremy Roe (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Daniel Kotkosky (2-for-2, 2 runs scored) accounted for all four Red Wings hits. Angel Zamora made the defensive play of the game in the fourth in center field, gunning down Ivan Soto at second base as Soto tried to stretch a leadoff single.  By E. Maddy

5/5/13 - Iron Pigs 4 vs. Stars 3

Sunday started out an all out pitching battle between Luca Pantel for the Iron Pigs and Anthony Kumerick for the Stars.  Top of the third and the Stars are ahead by 1, strong defense from Iron Pigs J.C. Cargasacchi and Mikey Pantel don’t allow any runs, the score remains the same until the 5th inning when the Stars get one home.  Iron Pigs gain some forward momentum  at their next at bat with a single from Keith Pouliot, Druce Faleafine, Nate Skorheim and another big hit from Nick Skorheim to take the lead 4-3.  Closing pitchers Nick Skorheim for the Iron Pigs and Chad Lux for the Stars gave a stellar performance on the mound, either allowing for any runs. Ultimately win the game.
