Whitmore Fence wins B/C Ambis Cup
Whitmore Fence completed a series sweep over runner up CRC Bandits to win the B/C division championship. Whitmore Fence scored the game winner at 10:35 of the first period, then successfully defended five power plays and a penalty shot en route to their 2-0 victory. Their second goal was scored at 15:37 of the second period while on the power play. Whitmore Fence won the first game of the series with a 2-1 score.
Whitmore Fence finished sixth during the regular season with a 10-11-5 record. They peaked during the playoffs, sweeping their quarter-final series and winning an exciting three game semi-final series against fourth place Hillside Inn in which the score of each game was 2-1.
The CRC Bandits were the regular season champions, posting a record of 14-9-3. They led the league in team defense, allowing just 54 goals in 26 games. The next stingiest team allowed 12 goals more. The CRC Bandits swept their quarter-final series. In their semi-final series, they were extended to three games by seventh place James Orcutt Real Estate, winning a seesaw series clincher with two late third period goals.
