Fall Ball 10/11A Division
Wickford1 - 9, SK American - 4
In the 10/11A Division, Wickford1 beat the previously undefeated SK American, 9 - 4, in the first round of the playoffs. Led by the pitching of Brian Farrell, who gave up 2 runs over the first 4 innings, followed by Adam Beliveau, who closed the final 2 innings, also giving up only 2 runs, Wickford1 put together a total team effort in the win. Andrew Sarazen had 2 hits, scored a run and played stellar defense at second base while Brian Farrell also had a single, double and scored 3 runs. Tyler Carter was a stalwart at catcher and was on base 3 times with 3 walks, scoring 2 runs from the leadoff postion. Jake Brogno was solid at shortstop and was on base twice with 2 walks and a run scored. Chad Beliveau had a long double to deep left field that drove in 2 insurance runs in the top of the 6th inning to put the game away. Also contributing hits were Matt Van Dyne, Cam Lamarre, Bruce Coppola, and Dylan Silverstein.
Wickford1 will play next on Wednesday, 10/14, at 6pm, at Wilson Park vs SK National who had a bye in the first round.
